It's silly to say definitively that JF won't or can't have an NBA career or even a long NBA career.

He's bigger, is a better shooter and has more PG skills than Eddie House did coming out of college. There is no reason he can't have the same type of career. He may or may not, but to say he can't or won't just doesn't make sense.
    I'm like LeBron James.

I'm also guessing they were both in the 6'0" range.
Khalid El-Amin was 5'10" in heels and was not a shooter. I think the biggest questions about Jimmer will be his ability to defend, shot selection, and spot up shooting (since so many of his shots come off the dribble).

        It could happen.
When Loyd was going on his 10-0 run I was thinking that Jimmer should leave for the NBA before Loyd makes everyone forget about him.

oh geez. I might have to kill myself from the inner turmoil that Jimmer playing for the Lakers would occasion.

This thread is hilarious, I'm book marking it. Particularly the comparisons to current NBA players. Having had, oh, zero guys in your program who made it in the NBA for more than five minutes since Shawn Bradley I guess I don't blame you for having no idea what one looks like.

The best question to ask about Jimmer's pro potential: Who the hell is he going to be able to guard at the NBA level?

I think the more pressing question is whether or not the closing words of the book of Jacob can be used to attack or support the historical claims of the book of Mormon.

It is only a successful attack if you think that French words being found in the Bible also make it other than an ancient record.

What's hilarious? The mentions of Steve Blake and Luke Ridnour as the lower threshold for NBA PGs? Or the discussion about Fredette being a second round or low first round pick? Do you know what kind of players are commonly picked in the second half of the first round and second round? They're usually quite forgettable. So it's not exactly a stretch to think that Fredette could slip into the last few picks of the first round.

It's also enlightening to know that Utah now qualifies as a basketball factory. Apparently placing one player of consequence into the NBA in the past decade is all it takes to bestow that honor.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Not just one player, but a number one pick. (Just in case you'd forgotten)

What, you're going to prove us all wrong when the fairly low predictions we've set out (late first round-second round pick) comes to fruition? No one's suggesting he's going to be a lottery pick. I'm not quite sure what you find so funny.

I think Jimmer might have what it takes to hang around the NBA for a few years because of his shooting, during which time it's possible that he would learn to play some defense, be more careful with the ball, and transition some of his college creativity to the pro game. If put in a good situation, I could see him having an NBA career.

I fear that his defense is bad enough that his shooting won't allow him even that much of a chance, however. There's a reason the guy is never in foul trouble.

Yep. Notice that Boynton had his second highest scoring output of the year today, doubling his season average. There's a reason for that.
