By the way SU per your favorite site Rivals, Chris Collinsworth had more offers than Grim and Kepkay combined.

The way things have gone the last ten years I'd be happy to cede the whole friggin state of Utah to BYU if Boylen can recruit well in places like Dallas. How'd Garner Meads do?
Kepkay was a JC recruit. If you genuinely think Grimm was the best recruit out of the state of Utah two years, you should not ask what others are smoking.

The best recruit out of Utah two years ago was Chris Collinsworth. He has a younger brother named Kyle. Kyle will be the best recruit out of the state of Utah next year.

My genuine point was I was agreeing with you. Marc Jackson is the last good instate recruit Utah had and since he has gone the U program has been pretty damn untouchable.

I understand your point about Utah not relying upon in state kids, but right now there is no evidence that the kids Utah is landing will be better players than the instate kids. In fact the Utah kids in question (Haws, Davies and Collinsworth) appear to be getting more attention and offers than the out of state kids you keep mentioning. Time will tell us who the better players are.

This is no longer Nate Cooper's BYU.

I think Garner Meads played in more NCAA games than Luke Nevill will.

Keplay was a 1 star and Grim was a 3 star. Chris Collinsworth was also a 3 star.
Kepkay is an in-state guy? Which HS?

(edit) I just read that he was a JC guy - I've never considered JC guys from outside of Utah to be in state recruits.

You could have said that Garner Meads lost more NCAA games than Nevill will. At least make the attempt to give it a Ute spin.

The other big thing about BYU is that they are getting a hell of a lot faster and more athletic. Dino Gaudia Wakes Head coach said after the UNC game that BYU was still the quickest team they have played. Jeff Teague said Jimmer is as quick as most ACC guards. If you watched against WF and TCU, the opposing team will start taking the ball out of the net after they make a basket to try and slow BYU down for even a second.

Lee Cummard threw one down in traffic last night, JT had a sick one handed dunk on a face break, Gavin Mcgregor was trying to dunk the ball almost every time he got in down low, like you said this is not Nate Coopers BYU. If BYU lands a big man that doesnt have to gather himself to throw down like Miles and Mcgregor do they are going to be even more fun to watch. I think Davies is that guy.

BYU fans always have such an inflated view of their teams and players. They get down when they lose but give them a whiff of success and suddenly they think they've got the best players in the nation. Have you guys beaten a ranked team yet? Because I know another team in the state of Utah that has. We also had a moral victory of our own against a damn good Cal team not to mention Oklahoma on the road.

Losses to Southwest Baptist state and Idaho State throw any wins over ranked teams out the window for at least 5 years. Oh wait you have zero wins against ranked teams since Gonzaga is no longer ranked.

How about common opponents should we play that game?

Right, and you guys still talk about that Vegas game last year. If boylen won the national championship you guys would be still talking about SW Baptist.

Gonzaga is unranked because we beat them. Beat a ranked team sometime and you'll see what happens--they drop in the rankings. Gonzaga will be back in there, as you know.

Gonzaga is unranked because they lost 4 out of their last 5 games during one stretch.

They also dropped from 16 to unranked after losing to UCONN and Utah in 1 week. Uconn was number 2 at the time, so that should show you how much people respect the Utes.

I love how Utah's recruiting of players from outside the state makes the team so diverse and athletic. It sends a great message to the rest of the country.
                            Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

SU has already compared Utah in the Sugar Bowl to Rosa Parks, so Utah hoops can be MLK.

I get your point and it is a fair point...but I think you would be hard pressed to find anyone that is not a BYU fan to say that JT's one handed dunk was 'sick' from last nights game.

Every time I see JT dunk it, I am always surprised that he can. I don't know why.
