Big game tonight at the Marriott Center. I didn't realize what a pain UNLV has been to BYU recently -- UNLV has won three in a row, five of six and eight of 11 (six of the eight wins were on UNLV's court).

The win in Provo last year sucked hind tiddy, BYU doesn't have that second half meltdown and last year is very different. Other than that game the home team wins pretty much every time.Originally posted by scottie View PostBig game tonight at the Marriott Center. Big game. I think the Cougars win though. I am glad the first one is at home.Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View PostThe win in Provo last year sucked hind tiddy, BYU doesn't have that second half meltdown and last year is very different. My husband, basketball aficionado and MWC expert, assures me that it won't even be close tonight.
Even though he hates BYU, he started watching the Arizona game in the second half because, as he put it, he "was watching history."
Why can't they play the Tourney in the Orleans, at least?

To small. It only holds about 8,000 people.Originally posted by Katy Lied View PostMy husband, basketball aficionado and MWC expert, assures me that it won't even be close tonight.

But I agree playing it at the Thomas and Mack is a joke.*Banned*

Seating capacity could be an issue -- Orleans Arena can hold 7,471, Thomas & Mack 18,776. I'm sure 7,471 would be plenty for early round games, but I was at the UNLV-BYU championship game 3 years ago or so and T&M was 80-90% full I'd say.Originally posted by Katy Lied View PostMy husband, basketball aficionado and MWC expert, assures me that it won't even be close tonight.

Prognostication: Jimmer struggles with shooting but still gets 14 pts 7 assists. Hawes goes off. Emery has 6 steals. Tavernari hits a big 3 late. Hartsock brings enthusiasm and a penchant for life, scores 10 and gets swatted at least twice. Miles...plays 24 min. At one point in the game BYU has 4 AA players on the court at once.

I'm pumped about this game. And yes last year's game really sucked. I had that feeling like I couldn't believe what I was watching as UNLV totally took charge in the second half.

I doubt that one. What's the word on Emery? Bruised heel? Will he play?Originally posted by Blueintheface View PostPrognostication: Jimmer struggles with shooting but still gets 14 pts 7 assists. I couldnt figure out what was going on when Arizona chat boards were talking about BYU's "whiteout game." Then I realized they were talking about the players.Originally posted by Blueintheface View PostAt one point in the game BYU has 4 AA players on the court at once.
Emery is possible; Jimmer is probable.

That has already happened this season, not that it's uber-significant but nonetheless. The other player on the court during that stretch was Tavernari, making that the single least-white moment I've ever witnessed from BYU hoops.Originally posted by Blueintheface View PostAt one point in the game BYU has 4 AA players on the court at once.

Yeah, that's why I predicted it would happen again. I remember thinking it may have been a first at BYU strangely enough. I think it was against E.
