Promoting impeachment? Nobody’s expects them to be doing that. But you’d think they’d argue that the incumbent committed impeachable offenses six months ago if they really believed that, or, they believed that the swing voters who they need believed that.

It was all just politics, and now it’s ignored because it’s not politically helpful.

They truly are and have been. The hrrr drrr Russia crowd just spits out Barr's letter about no conspiracy. Mueller didn't find enough evidence of a criminal conspiracy for charges, it's not that he found zero. He was also Stonewalled by Trump's people some of whom dodged subpoenas and somehow never ended up testifying. Mueller's ability to investigate was severely limited. It was not like previous folks before him like Ken Starr. We've never learned about what a counter-intelligence investigation into Trump uncovered.
The Trump-Russia connections have always been there, and increasingly there are now Russia-GOP connections.

I don't know that I understand the ongoing Dem strategy of using both jobless claims and COVID-19 response as ammunition against Trump in the same ad.

I mean - are they saying that there aren't ENOUGH jobless people? Because what I hear the most from Dems about the COVID-19 response is that Trump didn't do enough - to the point that many say he should've shut down the country rather than letting states/governors do that.

My favorite local liberal is now working for a think tank in Utah that just did a White Paper on Utah's COVID response. One of his greatest takeaways is that Utah "squandered" the political capital needed for a shut down and Utah is now in big trouble.

This is just emblematic of one of the things I hate about elections and politics - pointing out things that went wrong under the "other guy" when the reality is that there isn't a damn thing you would've/could've done to fix the problem either. And, in this case, they actually are likely to have made one of the problems they're pointing out even worse.

I’m not sure it’s contradictory to suggest that a coherent, non bumbling, response to covid would have improved both the covid and economic situation. In fact I’m sure it’s not.

Or maybe just acknowledging that the virus was real and not going to miraculously disappear or be cured by main lining ultraviolet bleach.
