It's very well written, even a must-read in the current environment. She has five children, btw.
I shared this a week ago. I agree, I thought it was excellent. In response, my mom has shared a daily post about the horrors of abortion. According to her, abortion is the only reason why she’s voting for Trump.

It’s as if she didn’t even read the article!

Ha, like your mother, apparently, I missed it--sorry... Really a good essay, though.

EXACTLY. He has been a grifter his whole life. Lying, dodging creditors, stiffing contractors, etc etc etc takes a skill set that not everyone has and is probably not easy to come by among guys with the resources he has. Just because he can't articulate what he does and distill it into an infograph like somebody has done for him, doesn't mean he doesn't do it. It's not like somebody laid out what to do and he's cleverly doing it-- somebody just happened to aptly identify what he's doing.

Yeah my favorite is how they all say that Mitt Romney should grow a pair and do likewise. As if being the lone GOP senator voting for impeachment didn't quite cut it. Dummies.

Mitt Romney had the best anti-Trump diss track on record in the primaries. That's why Trump's still mad at him. I'm confident Romney is not voting for Donald "Going-to-get-my-ass-kicked-in-a-monumental-landslide" Trump.

                • Tell me again why we can’t call them “deplorables”. Saw this today on an early morning grocery run.

Well - considering that dude/gal has a bumper sticker saying they are proud to be called deplorable, maybe you can?

I know too many people who voted for Trump who I don't consider deplorable to believe that even half of his voters have earned that title, however.

I can't think of any other candidate/politician in my lifetime that inspired so much outward racism like this. Can you?

FTR: I am not claiming all trump supporters are racists.

Nope. It isn't even close. I mean - I'm guessing there are probably some obscure crazy politicians out there with a more racist agenda than Trump. But they have no following, or not enough following to matter and certainly aren't mainstream. And they sure aren't politicians who have won national elections. This is truly strange to me to see people come out with stuff like what is pasted all over the back of that car. White supremacist organizations have been around for a long time - but they don't seem to be as secretive or hidden in the shadows as they always were in the past.

For whatever reason, folks who have been hiding their racist tendencies feel completely comfortable expressing them like this. Shared all over their vehicle. It's weird. And sad. And even a little scary.

I think most of Trump's supporters aren't racist - but racist groups sure seem to love him and fall in with him. And he sure doesn't seem to do much to distance himself from them.

Maybe it’s because he overtly panders to racists? It’s the least weird or sad thing about the last 4 years.

He literally has said multiple times to brown and black people to go back from whence they came. He told white suburbanites that brown/black people are going to invade your neighborhoods. Would anyone be surprised if the N-bomb exploded from of his twitter?

The weird and sad thing is that functioning adults in 2020 are considering voting for him including multiple accomplished people on this website... probs yourself included.

                          • I can get on board with the "Don't California my Utah" sentiment.

Family from Cali moved in across the street last year. Of course, they have a 30-something unmarried dude living in the basement. We call him "muffler man". He drives some super-loud Subaru wanna-be-racer type car and fires it up each morning and lets it idle for 5 minutes with the noise echoing up and down the street, 10 minutes in the winter. That may play well in California but in Utah it just urinates off your neighbors.
