So what is the chances this loosens up the Wasatch fault? That baby has a lot of penned up energy. If that goes I am heading back to Texas to take my chances there.

Are you just visiting Utah or did you move here?

Impossible to predict. You could argue that periodic small earthquakes like this alleviate the pressure lowering the odds for a big one.

            Yeah that was wild.

My wife hit the floor running to our son's room where the only non-anchored bookshelf in the house is. I'll be anchoring that thing today.

My wife is getting texts from people in the ward who know "engineers" who say there are bigger ones coming in the next few days and to get everything you need in your car and park it outside your garage. I told her that's not how earthquakes work.

The crazies did not need this fuel on the fire.

Well, we were just visiting for spring break but now I am thinking we have moved here.

Yep. Felt it in my office upstairs at home in Orem. Shorter and less energy, but I'm farther away as well.

LOL. They know! Yeah that one shook me a bit in my basement office in draper. This is wild.

                          Moroni making an obscene gesture.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Lots of houses in the neighborhood now have the car on the driveway instead of the garage.

Looks like it was a 4.6. There have been a couple dozen aftershocks apparently since the 5.7 that I didnt feel. I only felt a couple after the initial shake this morning.

Utah needs to completely shut down until further notice. Nobody move an inch. Some popcorn ceiling laced with asbestos may fall on you.
