  • The spiraling president adds self-impeachment to his repertoire

Trump’s gross and comprehensive incompetence now increasingly impinges upon the core presidential responsibility. This should, but will not, cause congressional Republicans to value their own and their institution’s dignity and exercise its powers more vigorously than they profess fealty to Trump. He has issued a categorical refusal to supply witnesses and documents pertinent to the House investigation of whether he committed an impeachable offense regarding Ukraine. This refusal, which is analogous to an invocation of the Fifth Amendment protection against self-incrimination, justifies an inference of guilt. Worse, this refusal attacks our constitutional regime. So, the refusal is itself an impeachable offense.

As comparable behavior was in 1974. Then, the House articles of impeachment against President Richard M. Nixon indicted him for failing “without lawful cause or excuse to produce papers and things as directed by duly authorized subpoenas issued by” a House committee, and for having “interposed the powers of the presidency against the lawful subpoenas” of the House.

If Trump gets away with his blanket noncompliance, the Constitution’s impeachment provision, as it concerns presidents, will be effectively repealed, and future presidential corruption will be largely immunized against punishment.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

    • Remember when those Repub Trump supporters said Trump's call for Chinese investigation of Biden was just a joke?

      They look even stupider.

This isn't even news, and far, far less a "scoop." I don't know Jack Posobiec, other than he must be a real dope. There were likely several White House staff (political and career employees) on that plane, as is the case anytime the President, the Vice President, and other cabinet officials travel overseas. But especially the President and the Vice President. But this is pretty mundane info, so it doesn't even merit a mention, unless one is a Trump syncophant.

Just more blah, blah, blah, then some Trump vomit.

“Are you truly blind to what you got wrong in 2016, or are you deliberately continuing policies that distort reality for the sake of controversy and the clicks that accompany it?” Kate Bedingfield, Biden’s deputy campaign manager, wrote in the Wednesday letter, which was posted by CNN’s Oliver Darcy.

“Our coverage of the Biden campaign and Hunter Biden has been fair and accurate,” a spokesperson said, adding that the paper “will continue to cover Joe Biden with the same tough and fair standards we apply to every candidate in the race.”

What? You are questioning that the crackhead flew on air force 2 with his dad?

Of course, Joe denies talking with his son about his Ukraine business dealings so it is all good. Nothing to see here.

That picture is irrelevent. It still doesn't address what I said.

But back on topic, here are some very relevent pictures:

Law classmates tell Trump lawyer Cipollone he distorts Constitution by blocking impeachment witnesses

"We are sorry to see how your letter to the congressional leadership flouts the traditions of rigor and intellectual honesty that we learned together," said the letter from members of the class of 1991 at the University of Chicago Law School.

The University of Chicago Law School alumni said, "When any president openly invites the help of foreign powers for partisan political purposes, Congress in the exercise of its constitutional powers should conduct an inquiry and the White House should cooperate. Fair-minded lawyers can easily agree on this regardless of their politics. Your letter instead distorts the law and the Constitution for other purposes, including cable news consumption."

Here's some stuff from the wiki of Jack Posobiec. You've reposted his tweets several times.

John Michael Posobiec III is an American alt-right[2][3][4] internet troll[5][6][7] and conspiracy theorist[8] best known for his pro-Donald Trump comments on Twitter. He has promoted fake news, including the debunked Pizzagate conspiracy theory that high-ranking Democratic Party officials were involved in a child sex ring.[9] He has been retweeted by President Trump.[10] As of 2018, he was working as a correspondent for One America News Network, a conservative cable news television channel.[11]

Posobiec was one of the biggest promoters on social media of the Pizzagate conspiracy theory, which falsely claimed that high-ranking officials were involved in a child-sex ring centered at a Washington, D.C. pizzeria.[5]

He live-streamed an investigation of the pizzeria and was asked to leave after attempting to broadcast a child's birthday party being held in a back room.[18] Posobiec later said he had always thought the Pizzagate theory was "stupid" and had filmed his visit to debunk it.[5]

In December 2016, Posobiec claimed without evidence that Disney had re-written scenes in the Star Wars movie Rogue One to add "Anti Trump scenes calling him a racist", and called for a boycott of the Star Wars franchise. Disney denied the allegations.[19]

Posobiec falsely said that former FBI director James Comey, at a United States Senate hearing on May 17, 2017, "said under oath that Trump did not ask him to halt any investigation". The claim was later repeated by conservative personalities and media outlets, including Rush Limbaugh and the InfoWars website.[17]

Posobiec promoted the discredited conspiracy theory that Seth Rich had leaked e-mails from the Democratic National Committee to WikiLeaks.[20]

Posobiec promoted a hoax that CNN had published and then deleted an article defending Bill Maher's use of a racial slur.[21]

In June 2017, shortly after Republican congressman Steve Scalise was shot during a baseball practice, Posobiec falsely tweeted that Loretta Lynch had previously called for "blood in the streets"[22] and that Bernie Sanders had ordered his followers to "take down" Trump.[23]

In December 2017, Posobiec, along with Cernovich, The Gateway Pundit, and InfoWars, promoted a false theory that a passenger train derailment near Dupont, Washington was linked to the Antifa anti-fascism movement.[24]

Posobiec has frequently tweeted about the white genocide conspiracy theory
Real great stuff Ted! No wonder you have an unparalleled grasp on current events.

                          Maybe you can explain this...

Turkey is part of NATO, right? NATO is our "ally". If Turkey is doing bad things then shouldn't they have to answer to NATO, which is more than just the U.S. i.e., shouldn't all of NATO be involved? We can't bomb our ally, right? So maybe NATO should kick them out of NATO so we can send in the drones and carpet bomb them.

Really dumb take, Uncle Ted. Your boy Trump has done some stupid things, but this one might be his most indefensible act. Immediately led to deaths of our allies. And of our reputation.

When allies are dying I think it is a perfect time to have discussions about how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.
