That's a good point. I think another huge red flag pointing to the strong likelihood that Trump is in there, is how they have (against regulations) moved Maxwell to a country club prison.

I did my taxes last night and between Federal and State, in getting over a couple grand back more than usual, I guess because of the BBB.

Google says there will be $50-100 billion more taxes returned this year. How much pressure is that going to put on inflation? What about that $2000 rebate being talked about? The warrior dividend cost 2.6 billion. I got mine...

I did a dry run of mine to see how much I should put into my charitable giving account.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

This psychotic break took all of 15 minutes at H&R Block online. Not all of us have complicated taxes like those who own mansions in Alpine.

I do the same, deciding whether to push some payments into next year. I've used TurboTax for decades, but this year TT is late with the charitable contributions and partnerships sections, among others, so I'm stymied.

I'll bet I have the simplest taxes of anyone here. I have one source of income with standard deduction and no adjustments. Every year when my December Leave and Earnings Statement comes out, I file my taxes. I don't even wait for my W-2 and have never had a problem.

I would be close, but now with my wife teaching, me refereeing, and coaching 2 high school sports I have lots or weird income sources.

I am dreading taxes for this year. As part of my buyout from my previous partnership I've been getting monthly installments and a portion of distributions. No taxes have been withheld, so I know my US quarterlies next year will be a lot higher than before. On top of that, although I think I have a handle on what my Canadian taxes will be, I'm still nervous that during my transition here we did some arcane thing that will cause another tax hit. I'm incorporated up here (a normal thing for docs to do) which decreases taxes on what I declare as income; a higher tax rate still applies on some surplus. But my bookkeeper (read: Mrs. NWC) is a newbie. Who knows what mistakes she's made so far. Our CPA firm up here has someone that is certified in the US, so I'm hopeful that we will be guided through both countries' requirements.

I need to start doing Roth conversions this year.

Well, you complete them. But the IRS doesn't aktually allow filing until mid-late January.

This is true. Well, actually H&R Block will efile them for me. And I guess they complete them for me as well. I simply input some values into their program and let them do the rest.
