  • This is unbelievable. This is confidential information (PII) to which non-government entities (DOGE) should not have access. A gross violation of privacy. No oversight, no security.

Congress sits idly by. The crazy rhetoric of dictatorship isn't sounding so crazy.

    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

This would be a 5 alarm national security fire (his aides/team being noncitizen H-1B programmers) in any normal timeline.

Can you link the NYT article that links the staffing shortage to the lawsuit? I've tried to find it but can't. It appears that FOX is doing FOX things by tying a NYT article that reports on staffing shortages to non-NYT reporting on a lawsuit from 2013. A slight of hand that makes the reader think the NYT is reporting the link, but it isn't.

The tabloids Daily Mail and NY Post are the only outlets I found making that link.

        • The amount of pushback around calling Trump totalitarian, dictatorial or fascistic looks strange now. Especially considering the cruel rhetoric MAGA has thrown around in all directions.
Trump is those things and always exhibited the capacity for those tendencies.
Steve Bannon, Roger Stone, Stephen Miller have always been bad people. In the case of Bannon and Miller have shown racist tendencies.
MAGA came to power via outrage over culture war stuff. Now that we have someone who will make sure federal employees don't use pronouns on their emails, I guess we are great again!

Also "Russiagate" wasn't made up by some deep state. Moscow has done various things to help him.

          • Am I misremembering the unity I thought the US felt when Trump tried to save face with the marker and the hurricane path fiasco? Like, didn’t the entire nation join together mocking Trump for something so laughably obvious, and yet he still played it straight? Was that a thing or am I just being naïve?

anyways, I’m reminded of that now with Trump staging something so obviously useless (and potentially damaging to agriculture business) to drain Northern California reservoirs and with a straight face broadcast it as a common sense reform to help Southern California.

Please America, humor me this one time and realize how patently unqualified he is to lead a country.
"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."

It'd frustrating to watch. Have you tried visiting Renaissance fairs or doing some larping? We need to chill while a once great nation becomes a chaotic mess.

              • There have been instances where trans people have tried to get passports, been refused, and had their documents seized and not returned. I know someone this occurred to. I'm so glad Elon is taking care of this woke mind virus but treating people like they aren't people.

                    • Here's the link to OPM's Fork in the Road program.

Still waiting to see if this affects any of our workers locally. We did get an email from our local HRO saying they still don't have clear answers on how this will work. The deadline's next week. I don't think my workers really understand what's being offered here.

Hey don't knock renaissance fairs. Maybe Shaka is speaking from his 2020-2024 experience!

I wonder if they've been swayed by this billboard:

Yeah, former colleagues have received it. My sense is that most will not resign. Way, way, way too many questions without clear, legal answers. For example, the FAQ answer folks are suggesting that people can get jobs while still on the government payroll. I doubt that. And the offer and answers are partly coming from DOGE/Musk. WTF? I wouldn't trust anything from that source.

Sending a simple "resign" in a response email is not how one leaves the civil service.

There was a lady wearing corsett that left little of her top shelf to the imagination. She called herself a wench at wouldn't stop hitting on me. I asked why was she dressed like that and she told me she'd just come from the renaissance fair. I said cool and then got out of there as fast as I could.
