It's another example of how lucky Trump has been throughout his life. Obama and Biden both began their presidencies during two of the most difficult periods in my lifetime for any starting President (Obama inherited two wars and the worst economy since the '30s; Biden got the worst pandemic in a century and the start of massive global inflation). The economy and inflation were much better (especially relative to the rest of the industrialized world) at the end of theiir presidencies that at their beginning. Trump for the second time steps into the White House under relatively great conditions.Originally posted by Bo Diddley View PostSometimes I like to play the "what if" game.
What if the election weren't stolen and we'd be coming to a close on Trump's second term. I wonder if we would be better off getting that out of the way in one shot rather than spending the next four years with him in office.
And speaking of stolen... it's funny that of the past three presidential elections, the only one that involved fraud and electoral theft, per Trump, occurred while he was in office. Apparently didn't happen when he wasn't in office.

Vince McMahon is a disgusting sexual predator like Trump and Clinton have been. He has gotten away with it for a long time.Originally posted by MartyFunkhouser View PostLinda McMahon, Secretary of Education. She was once involved in a WWE story line where her husband was drugging her into a coma so he could have an affair with another person in the WWE. She is also a named defendant in a lawsuit alleging that WWE, Vince McMahon, and her ignored and enabled child sexual abuse.
Seems like just the type of person you want in charge of education.
Linda is an opportunistic grifter with no moral compunction

Trump is looking to nix birth-rite citizenship. Wonder if any of the "constitutionalists" will utter a word of protest.

I'm sure Justices Thomas and Alito will write an elaborate mental gymnastically exquisite opinion on why the 14th Amendment doesn't mean what it has always been thought to mean and why previous cases that support the traditional take that being born here means you're a citizen doesn't apply to certain people maga are less fond of.Originally posted by frank ryan View PostTrump is looking to nix birth-rite citizenship. Apologies for my cynicism. I hope I am wrong.

I would be very surprised if the Supreme Court were to decide a case abolishing birthright citizenship. The article, I think, overstates that likelihood.Originally posted by BlueK View Post

Your cynicism is merited. Republicans/MAGA refuse to see crisis or criticism as applicable to them. Kavanaugh's investigation was scuttled, and he is still held up as someone socially martyred by the mean hyper-PC left.Originally posted by BlueK View Post

And Republicans will fall over themselves defending such an opinion. Just like immunity when it was clearly for trump.Originally posted by BlueK View Post

I don't see a majority figuring out how to essentially overthrow that part of the 14th Amendment. Not kidding about Thomas and Alito writing something like that in dissent though.Originally posted by Pelado View Post
