I'm not really endorsing his conclusion that Trump won't run again. If he doesn't it's more likely for other reasons than lack of endorsements from members of Congress. But I do think it's interesting that even after being elected that so many Republicans in Congress are already starting to run away from him, even before the midterms. If the Republicans get trounced as expected (100+ districts expected to be competitive, of which the Dems only need to win like 25 to take the majority), then you're going to see a Republican primary challenge to Trump, and historically, sitting presidents who get primary challenged lose in the general election. Not that history seems to apply to Trump. -
One of the grandest benefits of the enlightenment was the realization that our moral sense must be based on the welfare of living individuals, not on their immortal souls. Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.
