Oh you were too late- he already responded with 'Obama.'

Not that tough. I did something similar for several years and did it in about seven months. I know a lot of marketing reps, account managers, and executives that beat that number handily. A lot of business gets handled on the golf course.

Oh brother. I golf all the time, and I get so sick of the "lots of business gets handled on the golf course" cliche. It's not nearly as true as many people want it to be. Besides, any business that actually does get handled on the golf course is business that could be handled in about 5 minutes at an office. So even assuming business is getting done, spreading that business out over 4-5 hours isn't really efficient.

There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

What's the fun in handling business in the office? I can give more perspective.

For the last nine years I've worked for a medical products manufacturer. The FDA places severe limits on how we can wine and dine clients. Virtually all business relationships are nurtured in conference rooms or at trade shows. It's impersonal, oftentimes antagonistic, and it takes a long time to build trust.

Prior to this job I was a marketing rep/account manager in the IT industry. We took a lot of clients golfing and a lot of vendors would do the same for us. It was much easier to build a solid relationship with a prospective or current client in 3-5 hours on the golf course than it is in a conference room.

              • Our office manager loves golfing. He claims we won a big client contract because he took their manager golfing one day. I'm not sure if that's the only reason we got the contract, but my wallet tends to agree with him.

Yeah, I agree. No real "business" is done out there. But networking can happen. That's what I keep telling my marketing director when I submit my receipts.

                    • I'm probably extra biased- not only because I don't like Trump, but also because I kind of have an aversion toward golf as well. I believe what takes you 18 holes can be more conveniently handled in 6 or 9 wickets in the front yard.

I've never heard of a business deal being done playing croquet. Potential for a new trend to emerge.

                              • Omarosa is out. I have no idea what she actually did. She sure didn't inroads with the black community for her boss.

April Ryan: Omarosa fired by Kelly, escorted out of White House

White House aide Omarosa Manigault may have been escorted out of the White House shouting profanities after being told of her firing by chief of staff John Kelly, according to a report by American Urban Radio Networks reporter April Ryan on Wednesday.

"Omarosa did not resign. She was even escorted out of [t]he building and off campus," Ryan reported, citing multiple sources.

"She was very upset and said she wanted to speak to the president. According to sources, Gen. Kelly said the president was already informed and he signed off," Ryan said in her report.

"Sources say General Kelly did the firing and Omarosa is alleged to have acted very vulgar and cursed a lot and said she helped elect President Trump," Ryan also tweeted. "The word is General Kelly had it and got rid of her."

Ryan and Manigault are former friends but have a history of disputes while working at President Trump's White House.
