And actually, this isn't that hard if you think about it. I wouldn't recommend lying to the FBI. It's a felony. That's what Flynn did. When he repeated the same lie within the White House it became the reason Trump has cited for his firing. But I'll go a little beyond that. I think at least a couple more people involved are going to be in legal trouble eventually.

Wow, that looks super credible...or super convenient.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostI would if there was evidence (Hello, CIA, are you listening? Release the damn reports!) backing up his claims... As far as I know his book may be full of a lot of fiction to advance his political career. Does he mention why Nixon had to pardon him in the book?
I do have to agree with Rand Paul... McCain seems like a warmonger so maybe it is a good thing he didn't become president.
Now the right is saying he is the one behind the media leaks:
Too early to tell.

Oops.I think he has been very forceful with his denunciation of people who seek to attack people because of their hate, because — excuse me, because of their religion, because of their gender, because of the color of their skin," he said. "This is something that he is going to fight and make very, very clear that has no place in this administration.”
“But I think it's ironic that no matter how many times he talks about this that it's never good enough,” Spicer continued. “Today I think was an unbelievably forceful comment by the President as far as his denunciation of the actions that are currently targeted towards Jewish community centers. But I think that he has been very clear previous to this that he wants to be someone that brings this country together and not divide people, especially in those areas.”
“So I saw that statement. I wish that they had praised the President for his leadership in this area. And I think that hopefully as time continues to go by they recognize his commitment to civil rights, to voting rights, to equality for all Americans,” he said.I told him he was a goddamn Nazi Stormtrooper.

Yeah, I don't know what think about that report or John McCain... I even went back to the Dems' report on him:Originally posted by BlueK View PostWow, that looks super credible...or super convenient.

Mostly clean other than he is reportedly a "hot head"/hard to deal with and some links to George Soros, receiving grants from him to his Reform Institute. Not much of a senator given that he skips most of the votes. Also, there was a report that he was close to switching parties.
Maybe if the above report about McCain leaking crap is true we will hear more about it."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

I don't understand the criticism of Trump on this issue. Maybe someone can explain what I'm missing. Is Trump supposed to be anti-Semitic because he wasn't quick to denounce others' recent anti-Semitic acts? Is there something in his past that reflects that he is anti-Semitic? Trump just had a positive meeting with Netanyahu, with Netanyahu stating there is "no greater supporter of the Jewish people and the Jewish state than President Donald Trump." Obama had an incredibly frosty relationship with Netanyahu and was, rightly or wrongly, perceived for sticking it to Israel in the UN as he left office. Trump's son-in-law is Jewish and his daughter is a convert of Judaism. Why is Trump being accused of being anti-Semitic?Originally posted by Dwight Schr-ute View Post

McCain was in a POW camp for five years. He was brutally tortured during the first few years and still suffers from injuries sustained at the time. Everyone in that particular camp (Hanoi) was treated better during the last part of the war. They eventually figured out that McCain's family was famous (his father was CINCPAC and an admiral) and they fattened him up and offered to release him to score some political points, but he refused. Military protocol is that those more senior in rank should be released first. They told him that the offer wasn't good for anyone but him, and he said no thanks. So Uncle Ted's conspiracy photo is not just misleading, it pisses on the legacy of a man who showed incredible courage gave more for his country than most of us ever will. I find that kind of crap incredibly offensive. You want to dissect his politics, have at it. But don't question his military service.Originally posted by BigFatMeanie View PostIt would be interesting to know who the poor guys in the right-hand photo are. Are they from the Vietnam war? Are they even American POWs? The top picture looks like it could be British WWII prisoners in Japanese camps.

I stated it would be interesting to know who the poor guys in the right-hand photos are as they may not even be Vietnam-era POW photos. I don't disagree with anything in your post but I'm not sure why your post was in response to mine?

The critique isn't that Trump is anti-Semitic but that he's reluctant to come out forcefully against these things at risk of offending that faction of his base. It goes back as far as when he was endorsed by David Duke and when asked directly about said endorsement, Trump played some game about semantics on not knowing enough about David Duke or the details of these white supremacist groups. (Let the record show that I am strongly anti-semantic.)Originally posted by Nakoma View PostI don't understand the criticism of Trump on this issue. Maybe someone can explain what I'm missing. With the rise of hate groups publicly pushing the idea that Trump is speaking heir language, he's said nothing. In last week's press conference, he called on a Jewish reporter who made it clear that he didn't think Trump or his administration was guilty of any of these discriminatory sentiments, but stated he was concerned with the increase in anti-Semitic attacks and threats. Instead of giving a nice, firm and empathetic response, he called the reporter rude and went on to talk about how many votes he got.
As much as he rants and raves about every conceivable injustice I acted by some minority group, he's always been suspiciously quiet when it comes to white people committing said injustice. He'd rear her make up some fantasy about Sweden than make any mention of some white dude shooting up a Canadian mosque. This consistent inconsistency is what drives the rhetoric against him. Very similar to the rhetoric involving Putin. He likes to dance around the edges.
It becomes even more frustrating when he throws out statements like, "you've never met someone less anti-Semitic than me in your whole life. No one less racist!"

Right. It also didn't help when on Holocaust remembrance day he put out the tweet to remember the Holocaust while saying nothing about Jews being the main victim of the Holocaust. Then his spokespeople went on the Sunday talk shows doubling down on why they deliberately left out mention of the Jews because there were other people the Germans also victimized. To someone who isn't Jewish and also isn't antisemitic you likely miss the insult. To a Jewish person who feels like Hitler's hatred of Jews was the essential reason there even was a Holocaust, which is the truth, I could see how it would feel like an insult. To the KKK/white supremacists/alt-right it's the President of the US echoing back their own propaganda to them.Originally posted by Dwight Schr-ute View PostThe critique isn't that Trump is anti-Semitic but that he's reluctant to come out forcefully against these things at risk of offending that faction of his base. it would completely detour the entire news cycle. It would be too explosive and sensationalistic for any mainstream source to ignore. The fact even Fox isn't touching it pretty much proves it's fake. Desperate attempt by someone who is dying for the subject to change.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostMaybe if the above report about McCain leaking crap is true we will hear more about it.
By the way, I see this anonymous Twitter dude promises more info coming Wednesday. Nice tactic also used so well by those stupid big 12 expansion trolls.Last edited by BlueK; 02-21-2017, 08:24 PM.
