Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

      • One of the grandest benefits of the enlightenment was the realization that our moral sense must be based on the welfare of living individuals, not on their immortal souls. Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.

            You are a racist:

Their first sentence incluides by an overwhelming majority Americans would prefer the popular vote. If someone takes the time to look at the polls used most of them are state polls and are taken years ago. Those polls do show an overwhelming majority. I wonder state by state how it would look now?

I am with you, 90% of the time the NYT opinion is exactly opposite of mine.

Yeah, the electoral college worked in Texas and Washington... I don't know what the hell happened in the other 48 states.

It also depends how the question is posed. I believe if it were to come to a Constitutional Amendment, the majority of states would ultimately reject it. All you must do is campaign in all smaller states, "Do you want California or New York to control everything?"

End of story. Fortunately NYC stupidity and arrogance won't control the day on this issue.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf
