And at least one is still on probation...Originally posted by SCcoug View Post
http://dailycaller.com/2016/11/30/da...#ixzz4RXWygqaHDavid Petraeus Will Have To Notify Probation Officer If Chosen As Trump’s Secretary Of State
If Donald Trump chooses David Petraeus to serve as his secretary of state, the retired four star general will have to notify his probation officer about the new job.
That’s one of the conditions of a plea agreement Petraeus signed on April 29, 2015 in a case in which he was charged with the unauthorized removal and retention of classified material after he was found to have given documents to his biographer and mistress, Paula Broadwell.
Petraeus paid a $100,000 fine and received two years’ probation as part of a plea deal in the felony case.
Despite that controversy, Petraeus is on Trump’s short list to become the nation’s top diplomat. Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani and Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker are also being considered."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Mattis is the Sec. of Defense. If Romney ends up Sec. of State, I don't think Trump will have done a bad job with his VP, AG, Defense or State picks.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Here's a good read on Conway. A bit of an overstatement, but it makes some good points.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostI guess so. But every time I saw her on TV she seemed like an unhinged lunatic.

Nice job, Republicans.
WSJ editorial board comes out against Trump's Carrier deal
http://www.politico.com/story/2016/1...32115?cmpid=sf
“In an editorial published Thursday evening, the Journal argued that Trump’s method to convince the manufacturer to keep some 1,000 jobs in Indiana instead of moving them to Mexico — what it described as an “arm-twisting” — in the long run will lead to a loss of jobs.
Indiana offered Carrier $7 million in tax incentives to stay in the state, but the Journal editorial board asserted that Trump’s “real hammer” in the deal was his earlier threat to impose a tariff on the company’s imports if they moved. Overall, staying in the United States when it would operate more competitively in Mexico will only undercut the company’s profitability and its ability to manufacture other goods in the U.S. to export, the board wrote.”"There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? I view this deal as about the same as the dumb GM bailout that Obama did. The Carrier deal is costing the good citizens of Indiana $7,000 per job saved. I don't live in Indiana and/or pay taxes there so I don't care. I don't have a dog in that fight. The citizens of Indiana will need to determine if paying that to keep those 1000+ people employed is worth not paying they unemployment and not having their tax revenue contribute to their state budget.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostNice job, Republicans.

The GM bailout, on the other hand, cost you, me and the other good tax payers of these United States $11.2 billion dollars after all was said and done. That works out to be about $9300 per job saved. Of course, most of that benefited places like Detroit and not really my community. That bailout left such a bad taste in my mouth that I have decided that I am never buying a GM car again. The same article says the bailout only saved 1.2 million jobs and avoided the loss of 129.2 billion in personal income. That seems important.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostI view this deal as about the same as the dumb GM bailout that Obama did. That works on to be $9,300 per employee for the bailout ($11.2b). The question is does $129.2b in taxable income make up for the bailout? Yeah, most likely. But why didn't Ford, or better yet my company, get a $11.2b bailout as well?Originally posted by New Mexican Disaster View PostThe same article says the bailout only saved 1.2 million jobs and avoided the loss of 129.2 billion in personal income.
