regulations imposed by government at all levels account for 23.8 percent of the final price of a new single- family home built for sale.
I am sure this depends on the market as well. Government regulation on public lands I am sure drives up the costs of homes significantly. For example, the lack of land to build on here in North Utah I am sure has a lot to do with the cost of building a new home."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

According to the Utah Association of Realtors, the median price per acre for undeveloped land in Utah increased by 12% in 2023 compared to the previous year, reflecting growing demand.
Note that nearly 65% of the land in Utah is federally own. Just think what would happen to house prices if the federal government freed up some of that land for private development. Where else is the government going to put all of these (11-25 million) immigrants coming into the country? (Wait... immigration is a federal government policy as well.)"If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

Housing regulations are local, not federal. Am I missing something?Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."
