President Trump: Making America Great Again...

You can't deny the lawfare rampant among liberal political elite in this country. No doubt Trump is an illiberal authoritarian and wishes to do all sorts of things the judicial system won't allow. But the shenanigans at foot by his opposition is gross and dangerous.

Just a hunch but somehow I suspect the following scenario will occur. Not that I want it to, but I've long since given up hope that Trump will be held accountable for anything.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostThat’s dumb. Every legal analyst I’ve read says she did a great job.

Completely agree. It seems pretty silly and only serves to make him even more of a martyr.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View Post
That she changes her story in the way she did isn't unusual and it doesn't contradict the point that Trump slept with her and tried to keep the story quiet. I wonder what percentage of Trump lovers really believe he never schtuped her (probably the same people who rushed to buy the Trump bible). That said, I hate this case, wish it had never been brought, and believe that years from now people will observe how stupid the legal system was to have made this the lead case in going after a person demonstrably unfit for the presidency,.

What Shenanigans in particular do you notice and who are some examples of this liberal elite you are referring too?Originally posted by USUC View Post

Or Trump is just that awful. He is responsible for an unprecedented amount of graft and corruption.

Speaking of presidential men and their daughters... How disturbing is this to you?Originally posted by frank ryan View PostJust because Porn Stars, escorts, strippers and the like have sex for money doesn't mean that sex isn't traumatic for them. A lot of those individuals have to get high before doing the deed.
Daniel's mentioning that Trump said she reminded him of his daughter was one of the more disturbing highlights to me, and very believable

And snopes confirms this is true... How does this sit on your believable rating scale?

Have we heard anything from Trump's wife about this cheating? Maybe sex with ahookerporn star is in the prenup.
Didn't Trump hire the "fix it man", Michael Cohen, as an independent contractor? The key word here is "independent". Therefore, he can fix the problem in any way he seems fit. In short, Trump paid Cohen, Cohen paid the porn star/hooker. I don't seem the improper accounting.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostThat is is not the basis of the argument. It was the hush money and how it was not accounted for correctly. The only point of having her testify is prove that the encounter happened. Trump keeps insisting that it didn't. If Trump were any other politician, these cases would not be brought forward. It's the double standard that is plain as day. And everybody knows it. It's a political strategy.Originally posted by frank ryan View Post

What are you talking about?? I agree with pac that this NY case is dumb (it's not dumb to charge him with falsifying biz records , but trying to turn the conspiracy charge is a stretch, imho). But the GA case (election interference when trump is recording trying to interfere with the election) and the dc federal case (all the stuff around jan 6) are cases in which he broke the law. It's not a double standard to hold him accountable for trying to thwart our election process; it would be a double standard not to try him.Originally posted by USUC View Post

Yeah. I am on the record that the only way to stop trump is at the ballot box and lawsuits and criminal cases have done nothing but galvanize his idiot base. But at the same time, he is the most corrupt politician of the past 150 years so I can't argue too much with them bringing the cases. You can't just say we can't prosecute him because he is too powerful.Originally posted by Applejack View Post

Fair point. Not all of these are the same. But the political point still stands. The frivolousness of this case has the opposite impact that they intend.Originally posted by Applejack View Post

"opposite impact they intend" - this implies that the primary motivation of the cases is a political conspiracy to hurt him politically. Maybe he broke the law and their job is to prosecute lawbreakers.Originally posted by USUC View Post

Debatable based on the statements by some elected prosecuters. A motivation, no doubt. I'm not going to definitively say primary, though.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post

Where is the GA case? That is the only one of the 3 that seemed criminal to me. I am with USUC on the hush money case. IMO it is only being brought against Trump for political reasons. I think the 06 Jan is reason to not vote for him but difficult to prove criminal intent when other folks did the illegal stuff. I thought he should have been impeached because of what he did wrt election results in GA.Originally posted by Applejack View Post
