I have been on a grand jury before. Given that the standard is probable cause and not beyond a reasonable doubt, I think it's unlikely that it wasn't unanimous, especially for a jury from DC.Originally posted by Bo Diddley View Post
I had no idea, so I just googled it. Looks like grand juries don't need to be unanimous. I really have little idea how they work.

70 percent of Americans do believe Biden won. That is terrifying, and does not inspire confidence in the leadership or rank and file of that party.

That kind of belies the reality and seriousness of Trump's crimes. He has completely undermined our democracy in a way that Putin couldn't have orchestrated better. That is serious.Originally posted by frank ryan View Post70 percent of Americans do believe Biden won. You said, "70 percent of Americans do believe Biden won. " That would be a great thing, wouldn't it?Originally posted by frank ryan View Post
I'd love to hear your more generous interpretation.
What the article actually said (from the title):
It says that 70% of REPUBLICANS "support" Trump in spite of the indictments. But only 46% would vote for him over the other candidates.NBC News poll: Nearly 70% of GOP voters stand behind Trump amid indictment and investigations
But large majorities of Americans sour on a Trump v. Biden rematch in 2024.
I can't find anything in the article about opinion on trump's election fraud claims.

I meant republicans. I am thinking you you figured that out.

"The share of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents who believe that President Joe Biden’s 2020 election win was not legitimate has ticked back up, according to a new CNN poll fielded throughout July. All told, 69% of Republicans and Republican-leaners say Biden’s win was not legitimate, up from 63% earlier this year and through last fall, even as there is no evidence of election fraud that would have altered the outcome of the contest."Last edited by frank ryan; 08-03-2023, 11:22 AM.

Not that I don't do the same, but your response was a bit terse man.

Just as concerning is the fact that Biden is only pulling in 41% of the vote. How on earth can you not be destroying Trump at this point? Terrible candidate."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

I don't know. Trump should have long ago been abandoned. It is time for Americans to stop scoffing at the notion we could ever fall into a dictatorship when it's a clear and present risk. I'd vote for a reanimated corse or inanimate object before I'd vote for Trump.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post

I really don't think Biden is terrible, especially compared to Trump.
Im not sure any Democratic candidate would appeal to republicans. Would you be jazzed to vote for Obama? I would be? How about Hillary?Last edited by frank ryan; 08-03-2023, 12:19 PM.

Not the nicest way to describe Biden, but I tend to agree with you.Originally posted by frank ryan View Post

Well right now 41% of americans support Trump and 41% support Biden. Biden isn't a terrible person, he is a terrible candidate.Originally posted by frank ryan View Post

Forget finding a democrat that appeals to the republicans. That is the wrong strategy. It is the independents that matter.Originally posted by frank ryan View PostIm not sure any Democratic candidate would appeal to republicans. Would you be jazzed to vote for Obama? I would be? This is why I am very not stressed out about the prospect of another Trump presidency. Only the crazies are left on team Trump.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post
