DHS and EOIR are both run at the whim and behest of the president- they are part of the executive branch. He is completely and utterly inescapably responsible for what is going on, which I haven't gone into at all because nobody here has cared before and probably won't start anytime soon. But since we're on the subject.... For starters, he has been skimming funds from USCIS- an agency that is self-funded from application fees like citizenship, work permits, green cards-- to give to escalated ICE operations, to the point of almost bankrupting USCIS- who asked for a congressional bailout in August. The result has been historic backlogs in USCIS and EOIR cases. Chaos is the goal and he is killing it in that respect.

I respect your opinion on this subject and I will defer to your knowledge here. But immigration has been a hot button issue for as long as I can remember. I just don't see anyone person "fixing immigration" anytime soon. Yes, hopefully Biden would reverse the Trunk damage, but I'm not sure that "fixes" it as a whole.

No not at all, but it would be infinitely easier to get there with a friendly regime. There is overwhelming national will to enact the Dream Act-- something that is so long overdue it's disgusting. Trump torpedoed a bipartisan Dream Act (that was woefully insufficient but to be expected given it's Trump's administration) That will only be a good start since there has been zero political incentive to do anything ever about immigration. Biden would at bare minimum afford us some optimism and stop the bleeding and the ongoing wounds that occur on a weekly/monthly basis w this relentless administration. Literally there is something new every week. The Supreme Court upheld DACA and this admin refuses to honor that decision. I have to think that's unprecedented...
