Most of the BS in the media today is coming from Fox which has become a laughable propoganda source where almost everything is scripted to appeal to one person: Trump, and many of its hosts actually think their role is to be an advisor to him. It's the closest a joke like Hannity is going to ever come to being relevant. And Fox and Friends? That show is even more insulting to intelligence than Hannity, which says a lot. Not sure it's even as intelligent as average reality TV.

Actual case in point: multiple Fox hosts having stated that Mueller's team should all be fired and carted off "in handcuffs." Ok, maybe you can disagree with the point of the investigation. But saying they should be sent to jail reeks of third world authoritarianism where the crime is doing something to hurt our dear leader. That's BS and just plain bizarre for an American news source to advocate for that. It's also, IMO, grossly irresponsible and manipulative of a largely not so educated audience.

I wasn't intending to take a side as to which of the media is actually being most honest at this point. I'm simply referring to what drives the Trump supporters. They don't trust "the mainstream media", and like that Trump "doesn't care" what the media does or says (Um...yeah - we know that isn't exactly true by his reactions. But that's the feeling his supporters have.)

This is a much better description of what I'm referring to. Many support Trump precisely because of the angst and gnashing of teeth that comes from those who are criticizing him.

I know there are some who like some of what he's done with regard to regulation - and ignore what he says on other fronts. And I think many of these fall into the category of "he hasn't really DONE anything too awful yet" - without commenting on what he says, while also feeling like the counterbalances of our government will keep him in check from doing anything too awful.

But I think his most rabid fans are those who hate the other side and, like I said before, like to see Trump thumb his nose at them.

lol. I've come to expect this from him. There are a lot of reasons crossings are down-- they have been trending down since 2010 when immigration from Mexico started registering at net zero. (yet WE NEED A WALL!!!!) ICE is doing a great job getting the jump on grandmas in church and little sick girls in ambulances- not too much else.

And MS-13? GMAFB. They comprise like- what- 3% of gang activity in the U.S. or something? And they aren't crossing through the desert to set up shop here. MS 13 in El Salvador consists of Salvadorans. MS-13 in the U.S. consists of Americans. Once in a while you get undocumented folks from El Salvador joining the local factions, but... to say MS-13 is being hit hard by ICE somehow? GTFOH, President Gaslight.

I personally think legal immigration is a good thing... We should recruit all the engineers and scientists of the world to be US citizens. We can't get enough of those guys (and gals).

I don't know how much of the traffic across the the border is gang related versus not gang related - but Hispanic gangs are becoming a bigger and bigger issue.

A couple of weeks ago there was a report on NPR from an ex-gang member who now works for the feds, who indicated that the Hispanic gangs' membership outnumbers all of the gang members of all of the gangs of every other race and culture combined. MS13 reportedly has a presence in 42 states now - and is supposedly the #1 gang the feds are concerned about.

I suspect that, like Commando says, the vast majority are US citizens. But the guy on NPR reported that there is some traffic from Hispanic gangs crossing the border, and they're also concerned with many Dreamers who have become disillusioned with life in the US and/or disenfranchised and turning to gangs as well.

Like I said - I don't know how much. But he didn't give the impression that it could be discounted completely.

MS-13 is scary, but it's just basically the Central American versions of Crips. We incarcerated all these undocumented criminals on mostly drug offenses, they learn the gang culture in prison, link up, and we deport them to Central America to plant the seeds there. This wasn't a thing in Central America 20 years ago, and now they are basically overrunning the Salvadoran government. That's what has the feds concerned about the MS-13 presence here. And they are way more ruthless than we're used to seeing-- they grew up with a lot less and will do more. There's a great documentary about Mara Salvatrucha, MS-13, etc. in Guatemala on Netflix that will scare the crap out of you. They are extremely depraved in ways we would never ever ever tolerate here. It's perfect gaslighting material for any anti-hispanic lobby.

And to conflate this element with the Dreamers is garbage-- especially if you know who the Dreamers are.
