I think he's doing his duty and taking this seriously. I wonder why you are so entrenched in your view that it's all a big nothingburger.

Yes, I certainly hope that with 16 attorneys working for him full-time he is taking it seriously and fulfilling his duty and not just wasting time. I have no reason to think otherwise, nor have I suggested otherwise. And if something comes of it I am certain we will find out in due course. But, you see, the source there was NPR, not exactly a noted Breitbart ally, and they are starting to float the idea that maybe, just maybe, there won't be a grand reveal, becasue there is not much if anything to reveal.

I am not entrenched in anything. I am eager to see evidence. You kindly listed yours out, in detail, some days ago and unless I missed something since then there is nothing new to consider (and I dont count the 'devastating' emails that will be used to hem in Manafort for the reasons I explained above). Based on the actual evidence that we have, there is no collusion shown. My mind remains open. Does yours?

Well, a cynic could believe he is simply in it for the money and the books he hopes to write after the investigation. Maybe, he'll become dean of a university that commits serious NCAA athletic rules infractions before he leaves the university.

I think it is very clear that there was sufficient cause for an investigation, which is underway. I think we are not aware of everything the investigation has found, whether it be incriminatory or exculpatory. I think we will eventually find out if there is any basis for claims of collusion or improper cooperation. And, I think that, so far, not only is the evidence presented to show collusion or improper cooperation not compelling, it isn't even very persuasive. Even the Nation, which I used to subscribe to in college btw, and even NPR are suggesting there might not be nearly as much to this as many of the Trump opponents think there is.

I am content to wait and see, but I am certainly not going to get excited about every overclaimed headline or overwrought opinion piece that comes across the wires, on either side of the issue.

Did you read the "retort?" It quibbled with the Nation article because it assumed (based on inference) a download speed consistent with a consumer level internet connection but, in fact, the 'retort' breathlessly claimed, the hacker might have used a faster connection. Nothing in the retort was based on evidence. It was based on pure speculation. Not all evidence or inferences drawn from evidence is of equal value. And, when trying to prove misconduct, speculation is of no value.

I didnt just 'scoff' at your use of the term 'smoke.' I said I think such an opinion is irrelevant and without serious meaning. What I did say is there was sufficient cause to investigate.

Funny you say that. ONe of the htings that I find rather amazing is the attitude that all these Nazis just popped up out of nowhere. Trump certainly seems to have emboldened them, but they ahve been around doing obnoxious things like this for many years. The Skokie marches come to mind. Wearing swastikas, giving sig heil salutes and marching thorugh a neighborhood with a lot of holocaust survivors. These people have been low lifes and idiots for a long time.
