It wasn't an attempt at an intelligent argument. It was a lighthearted comment even though it's lose to the truth. If I were president I'd probably spend a decent amount of time on a golf course. Everyone has a pressure release and golfing is one of mine. They other is boating which I'd also do if I were president.

I can't imagine spending time on the golf course as President. It would be a great chance to ride one's bike, or spending time sailing or skiing.

OTOH, you have four to eight years at the job, you don't need to spend it recreating. Work hard and do a good job, and recreate afterwards.

In the absence of a time-critical crisis, I don't have a problem with any President teeing it up or engaging in whatever activity he enjoys--I'm certain the job is always on his mind and he has ready access to aides and information if the need arises. Indeed, having Trump away from the White House is probably good for the country, and I suspect General Kelly doesn't have a problem with it. "Another golf outing? Great! Leave your cell phone on the counter and scoot!"

Golf doesn't count as exercise, but I disagree. There are times when you don't balance, grad school, mission and if you're POTUS. You devote and are all in. No way, I'd focus upon a balanced life. I'd still get some exercise in, but you wouldn't want to promote elite and dancing and letting the hoi polloi eating cake.

I know cost for security and travel for the president isn't a blip on the federal budget radar even if the president goes hog wild, but I think it is poor form to live it up.
