A CNN piece provides the 29 most cringe-worthy lines from Trump's speech at the Boy Scout Jamboree. This is a truly appalling address, given that his audience was primarily boys between the ages of 12 and 17. Appalling, and yet hilariously inapt. And this classless, narcissistic Charlie the Tuna represents America to the world. How are his supporters not bothered by this?
Because it was clearly a tactic to drive you snowflakes crazy! #maga

“When they say he endorsed me, I went to Alabama,” Mr. Trump said on Tuesday , recalling the endorsement . “I had 40,000 people. He was a senator from Alabama. I won the state by a lot, massive numbers. A lot of the states I won by massive numbers. But he was a senator, he looks at 40,000 people and he probably says, ’What do I have to lose?’ And he endorsed me. So it’s not like a great loyal thing about the endorsement. But I’m very disappointed in Jeff Sessions.”

I tend to believe that all US Presidents exhibit some narcissistic characteristics. That's probably what got them to run in the first place. But Trump is definitely winning at it! So much winning, we can hardly stand it!
Somehow I started getting emails from the Trump/Pence camp. Heres one that just came in a few minutes ago:
Friend,
“A Better Deal...”
That’s what the Democrats are labeling their new “agenda.”
However, you and I both know that the only thing on the Democrats’ agenda is RESISTANCE.
Left-wing elites like Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and even more radical progressives such as Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, have done nothing but encourage protests, fuel active and angry resistance, and spread the notion that this is not a legitimate presidency.
Our movement is real, Friend. And this presidency is real.
Our strategy is more than just blind hatred and unrelenting resistance to getting things done.
Our strategy is putting AMERICA FIRST, strengthening our economy, and making this country safer and stronger for future generations.
If you’re with us and against the Left’s ideals of resistance and hatred, help us advance the agenda YOU voted for and continue winning elections with a contribution of just $1 today.

Anti-Trump energy isn’t enough to win in 2018, Friend, but the Democrats just can’t seem to figure that out.
Let’s keep fighting.
Let’s keep winning.
Please, show your support with a contribution of just $1 today.
Thank you,
Team TRUMP

Narcissism I get. It's the complete lack of decorum and self-awareness that is jaw dropping. He is basically accusing Sessions is disloyalty, and that he only supported Trump because the crowd rallies were impressive.
If Armageddon happens and Trump is reelected, he is setting the stage for an even more spineless political class to run with him. After the Sessions debacle, what self-respecting politician would trust Trump enough to serve on his cabinet? Wait, maybe we shouldn't contemplate that question...

Seriously, how anyone can see Trump's recent behavior as anything less than disgusting when it comes to the office he holds is beyond me. Loyalty only matters one way. Respect for the law and the independence of the Justice Dept, FBI, or any other institution, be damned. Everything in government really only exists to serve Trump. Or should I say Saddam. When do the statues go up? Republicans would never not be going ballistic if a democrat did the same things. Trump is so obviously a terrible example of everything Republicans supposedly stand for (respect for the Constitution, respect for rule of law, putting country above individual aggrandizement, especially for those serving in elected office), it's mind boggling.

Once again, Mitt was right! Who's with me?! MBN, where you at?
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Trump is doing exactly what his supporters wanted him to do - running the country "like a business". Which to him means hiring people that are unquestionably loyal to him, will support and defend him, and who he trusts to do exactly what he says. It's one of those businesses where you hire all of your kids and your cousin Jim - because Jim will be happy to have a job, won't ask too many questions, and will plod along doing whatever you tell him to do and telling you about any of the rumors he hears from other employees about dissatisfaction or disloyalty.
It isn't the kind of business that wins awards for leadership, work/life balance, or is noted for its productivity or creativity. It's just a business that keeps moving along, getting everyone paid, and is big enough that it doesn't have to be super efficient or effective to have enough success to stay open.
What do we know about all of Trump's other businesses? From what I recall, that pretty much describes them. They do OK. They keep moving along. They experience some growth in spurts - but it isn't because of some great leadership as much as it is because they are big enough to drive market share and can't help but have SOME success due to the quid pro quo of doing business with someone with that number of connections to that many industries.

sounds exactly why most small businesses fail. Also why he's been bailed out by bankruptcy court four times.
What the Trump experiment is showing as he gets increasingly frustrated and crazier by the minute, is that our Constitutional system still works -- that's exactly what is driving him crazy. The flip side of that is that the fact he could have gotten this far is evidence of how badly our two-party political system has failed.

Like I've said before, the GOP says they stand for this, but they never really have anymore than the democrats. It's just on full display now. They are slowly being assimilated into the Orange Reich.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf
"After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow Transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military," Trump said in a series of tweets Wednesday morning. "Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail."
I'm not sure how this makes America great again, but I'm sure it will, believe me.

This guy picks the weirdest battles. I'm starting to think he really is nuts.
Starting?

Anytime he's getting pounded somewhere (usually in the media and this time by GOPers in regards to Sessions) he creates some media frenzy like this by throwing red meat to his followers.

Bingo. Like clockwork.

I always knew he was an idiot. Bully. Oaf. Slime ball. But I have never considered him to be nuts. I still don't think he is, but the twitter thing is so weird. I know it's like Moli said that he shores up his core supporters with this nonsense, but he's cutting off his own political legs. If his goal is to make sure he can always throw a packed-house rally in the rust belt I guess this is a good strategy but it sucks if he ever wants to accomplish anything.
I was perplexed at Obama's insistence to go after very divisive issues when he had a mandate and the good will to accomplish some really important compromises on big issues that we need to solve desperately (mainly fiscal issues). Trump is doing this, but a million times worse. He had no mandate and obviously isn't admired like first year President Obama, but he brought a marginalized segment of the electorate to the table and therefore could have accomplished some very important things. Instead he just speaks to that base over Twitter constantly and undercuts any practical strategy to accomplish any agenda. The crazy thing is, I don't know that most of his base really cares about this crap. They mostly want economic opportunity.
I've met my quota for Trump analysis for this month so I'm done. Point is I will never understand him. The country will obviously be fine but I'll hate him forever for wrecking my party.
