That was my thought - why is he still pushing this garbage? Probably so that he can say he was cheated and therefore should be given a 3rd term.Originally posted by BlueK View Post
What I think could happen right after the midterms isTrump will try to say because he was cheated in 2020 that he should be able to run again in 2028.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Its not insider trading, its securities fraud. But since the SC told Trump he was untouchable, no one can or will do shit about it.Originally posted by Moliere View Post
None of those are insider trading, but I’d call all of them unethical given his position as President.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

i doubt very much he'll try to run again, although he'd love for his minions to beg him to do so. Two laws, irrevocably decreed in hell, govern Trump. One, he cheats at pretty much everything--school, college admissions, draft ineligibility, golf (Rick Reilly's Commander in Cheat is both hilarious and enlightening) marriage, business transactions, countless unfilled promises of future performance, etc. Two, he assumes everyone is as amoral as he is, and thus everyone is cheating and the only way one wins is to cheat better. Thus, he is driven to insist that any loss he experiences is because the other side cheated. It will be a stain on our nation's history that we twice elected such a morally bankrupt individual who has done more to undermine confidence in our institutions than did any predecessor,Originally posted by falafel View Post

P.S. Whenever I type an ode to Trump like the foregoing, I remember fondly the time fusnik asserted I was a Trump supporter. He recanted later, but it still amuses me. Come on back, fus!

Yeah, at this point he does something just about every day that would have been a massive scandal in former times. Sigh...Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View Post

With Senator Cassidy losing the primary in Louisiana to a Trump backed candidate, are there any congressional members (outside of an oddly antisemitic Thomas Massie who is also in trouble in a primary) who are not total Trump lackeys? If they don't get wiped out this fall they certainly will in 2028. Going to be quite the heavy lift to rebuild the party post Trump.

I will shed no tears for Cassidy. He showed a spine by voting to impeach, but then realized he still had to kiss Trump's ass in this god forsaken age of the GOP to stay electable. And the one thing he thought would keep him in Trump's good graces, voting for RFK Jr. as a freaking supposedly serious physician and setting back trust in public health decades, bought him absolutely nothing from the most vindictive POS we've ever had as a president. He knew the snake he was allowing in the tent, but he did it anyway in a futile attempt to save his skin. GTFOOH Cassidy, and may you be remembered as a coward forever more.Originally posted by USUC View PostWith Senator Cassidy losing the primary in Louisiana to a Trump backed candidate, are there any congressional members (outside of an oddly antisemitic Thomas Massie who is also in trouble in a primary) who are not total Trump lackeys? I keep hoping that with his cratering polls the public has finally had enough of Trump, after being bitten twice. But the one thing that got him the nomination in the first place, primary voters, are still all in with him. With luck we will not have a Trump name on the ballot 2028 and beyond, but we will certainly have to deal with minions of Trump-lites."...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Oh, I agree. He catered to Trump far too much for my liking. My point was that those that are still hanging around who only give into Trump say 80% of the time, are being culled by Trump. Not a deep bench to pick from come 2028 and beyond.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View Post

Here's the thing though, the Democrats are also loathed and have acted in ways that the public also dislikes. Until one of these parties is serious about governing, the 50/50 split will continue.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostI keep hoping that with his cratering polls the public has finally had enough of Trump, after being bitten twice. The gnashing of teeth for both is just stupid. But ironic how many lefties defended the action and are now outraged by Trump.Originally posted by falafel View Post

This is kind of your forte Dabrockster. I'm surprised that you're misjudging highlighting hypocrisy of Trump doing the same thing the political right pilloried Obama for with 'outrage'.Originally posted by dabrockster View Post

The $1.7B reparations fund for January 6 insurgents is going to go down as one of the biggest government scandals in US history. Really going out on a limb there, I realize, but go ahead and mark my words.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock
