  • Can you imagine working for this piece of shit?

Cue the hillbilly: "Sometimes you just got to laugh."

    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

    • I can assure you Senator Scott, it is definitely not fake. In fact it's quite the revealing insight into why Trump decided to run in 2016.

"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."
"You are an intemperate, unscientific poster who makes light of very serious matters.”

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Holy Shit that is disgustingly racist. No chance anyone believes he does not run his social media accounts. Some poor intern is going to become the sacrificial lamb on this..

                    It's a cult of personality.

                    • Defending the indefensible is hard.

Comparative advantage. Study it. They send us cheaper lumber that lowers our housing costs, we send them a bunch of value added products and services that make their lives better.

Comparative advantage isn't a universal benefit. Yes, it drives the price of imported and domestically-sourced wood products down. That is great for the wood-using industries, but not so much for the domestic wood-generating/processing industries. If the affected industry is one we don't care much about (e.g. domestic cobblers) we'll ignore the downsides and enjoy the cheaper products. If it's one we have a emotional tie to, or think it's important for non-economic reasons (see US Steel), we'll screw the end-users and force the price up.

Canadian lumber is an interesting study. We tariff the hell out of it, they sue us in front of the WTO, we lose spectacularly, and we drop the tariffs. Only to repeat the process a few years later. It's been going on for a long time..

                        • Can someone help me to understand Bill Gates hatred? My psycho right-wing brother said at a family reunion “someone should put a bullet between his eyes” and a post on cougarboard calling Gates “evil” got 20 likes and not a single negitive reaction.

It’s estimated that causes that Gates donates heavily to have saved 8 millions lives from various health initiatives.

Could the modern conservative movement embody any more the scripture “woe to those that call good evil, and evil good”?

I can understand if it because he is a creep in regard to the Epstein stuff. But the crazies hated him before that came out. Mainly because he is pro vaccine/global health stuff/covid and doesn't support trump. Mostly they are dumb.

                            • Bill has issues, but I'm going to take anything coming out of the Epstein files with a huge grain of salt.
