  • If he threatens the fed chair with a bullshit lawsuit, does he think the best and brightest will want the job when Powell is done?

      WRONG:

“After the ACA’s major insurance market reforms took effect in 2014, average individual market premiums increased significantly from the pre-ACA period. According to a CMS data brief, average premiums in the individual market rose from about $242 in 2013 to roughly $589 in 2019 — a 143% increase during those early years of the ACA marketplaces.”

      https://www.cms.gov/cciio/resources/...ce=chatgpt.com

“Other analyses indicate that in the first few years of the ACA (roughly 2013–2017), premiums in the individual market increased by roughly 80–105%, though estimates vary by methodology and plan type.”

      Impact of Expiring Subsidies:

The expiration of enhanced ACA premium tax credits (expanded during the COVID-19 pandemic) would dramatically raise what many consumers pay:

Without the enhanced subsidies, the average premium paid by subsidized enrollees is projected to more than double (114% increase) — rising from about $888 in 2025 to about $1,904 in 2026.

I do applaud DHS's online efforts to be as open with their bigotry as possible though.

That looks like a tidal wave that is about to consume that 70s-era car.

Not the American future I want.

                      • Good news everyone, Mike Lee has weighed in and he says this action is okey-dokey from a constitutional point of view.

                        • It's about the oil.

And in case anyone still thought it was OK to let Trump spew his bullshit about the 2020 election because his policies are somehow better than whatever the democrats would have done, here he is on record saying the US election was as fraudulent as the Venezuelan one:

And of course no pushback. How does the GOP, let alone the nation, come back from this post-truth state when any consequential leader can lie with impunity and half the country yawns?

                          • What is going to happen now. Who is the VP? This seems like a major problem as a power-play will now take place and this could get worse. Why do this when Maduro was willing to negotiate.

I sure hope there is some sort of plan in place.

I am curious to hear what some of the military experts have to say about this. I also wonder if any side deals with Russia and Ukraine played a role in why Russia or China has just sat on their hands and given lip-service. But then again, we did that when Russia invade Ukraine years ago.

This and possibly getting involved in Iran is a alarming for sure.. Oh boy.

Maria Machado (Who won it) has responded in support and that Venezuela is now free. I wonder how the committee feels about that.

In case anyone thought that Trump had any concern about true democracy in Venezuela, he couldn't even give a perfunctory nod to Machado or pushing for free elections this morning:

Get ready for some nation building. We have such a great historical record.
