I agree, unless that person has used their religion's teaching previously/frequently to justify their political viewpoints, in which case is is fair game.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Lecturing? MAGA is all about a John McNaughton world view and performative Christianity and "Christian Nationalism."Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostLet me say again that lecturing someone that their political viewpoint doesn't properly match their religion's teaching is the most annoying debate tactic ever.
They are constantly grandstanding on "Christian," values.
It is a valid point to bring up.

Agreed. I found it amusing that he was trying to torpedo me by dropping a church stance, thus my Article of Faith.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostLet me say again that lecturing someone that their political viewpoint doesn't properly match their religion's teaching is the most annoying debate tactic ever.

There's nothing hypocritical about it. Post-mission, they should return to their country of origin and, if they wish to emigrate, do so legally.Originally posted by Maximus View Postjust pretty hypocritical to advocate people spend money to proselyte for the church and then being ok when are they sent to prison after.
I'm all for legal immigration. I'm completely opposed to a president, or whoever is controlling the White House, turning the border into a sieve.

Follow that logic. So you support part 2 but not part 2?
They dont have a chance to integrate legally. Already 10 or so LEGAL immigrants have been arrested and deported to prisons.
So I assume in those cases you did show disagreement?

Legal immigration should reflect the reality on the ground. The last time there was a significant change in immigration law was 1986. Our economy needs workers. People want to come here to work. That we take their tax money and not give them residency is unethical, to me. They are taxed, but not represented."Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.

Trump sabotaged bipartisan solutions MAGA needs something to rally around.

Of course he did. The Heritage Foundation/Schutzstaffel wants a nation purged of aliens that aren't wealthy, highly-educated, highly-talented, or can somehow otherwise enrich the 1%. Even then, it's better that they be Caucasian, Christian, and have "high standards, comparable to our own."Originally posted by frank ryan View Post

Fuck the Heritage Foundation a thousand times over. I'm truly surprised that they haven't been the target of protests, en masse."Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.
