Im sure there’s good reason to be against the gift but I’m admitting to my ignorance here.
I appreciate your candor. You should assume ill-intent with Trump at this point.

I'm no financial genius, but won't all these tax breaks drive up inflation? Seems like tax deductions for car loans would drive up costs for cars as well.

Other than the Constitution strictly forbidding gifts to the US government by foreign royalty and Trump's lawyers' way around this is to say it's actually a gift to Trump personally? There are practical security reasons why this is a stupid idea that LVA laid out but from an ethical and yes very strictly legal perspective this stinks. Rank and file federal employees can't accept a cup of coffee from their contractors without looking over their shoulder but the President can accept a $400 million jet from a terror-supporting foreign power? I say again GTFO.

Yes, it’ll effectively lower the cost of borrowing for a car, which will increase demand and therefore increase prices. It’s kind of like what the government did to college tuition

If he were smart, and a democrat, he’d have Don Jr receive it as a gift instead…

The bribes and corruption with this administration are right out in the open bur Republicans think it's ok. Or at the very least would never do anything about it.

Moli, the democrats are not more corrupt than MAGA nor are they more skilled at being corrupt than team Trump.

It's just Republicans don't give a shit about what he does.

Now the TikTok people are openingly bribing Trump by buying his shitty cryptocurrency.

The public facing justification is "the dems were corrupt too," but I suspect most know this is beyond the pale but are too afraid of their constituency and losing their positions of power they say nothing. They are gigantic cowards.

I didn’t say democrats were more corrupt. They are clearly corrupt but the order of magnitude compared to the GOP I leave that to you to determine.

You don't see a difference in magnitude? Bob Menendez was found with less than $600,000 in bribes from Egypt. Trump is openly talking about accepting a $400M bribe and his base is all for it. WTF.
