Also, as a response to your question just suppose several months down the road he has implemented massive tarrifs and removed a massive number of immigrants from the country. As a result inflation has shot way up, unemployment has shot way up, the stock market has crashed wiping out a big portion of the country's retirement savings, and there are huge protests everywhere. Under a scenario like that, not sure you can put many limits on thinking what Trump might try to do.

Trump is such a foreign policy disaster. If he weren't compromised by Putin (he is practically obedient to him) he'd still be awful. He lionizes dictators and scolds our allies and trading partners.

There is no value or need to threaten Mexico with invasion. Trump doesn't understand what NATO, but he shittalks it, much to the please of our adversaries.

There was been more relative peace on earth from WW2 until recently than perhaps ever before, and NATO was big reason.

I think the media needs to quit acting like Trump posses insight and nuance when it comes to this stuff.

The alternative media is a joke. If Ben Shapiro, Tucker Carlson and Joe Rogan are someone's primary source of news they are factually malnourished.

Trump's social media cabinet lineup should inspire derision not confidence.

When he screws up the economy, I'm sure he will blame Biden, Obama and Dr Fauci.

it will be interesting how the alt right maga media tries to spin the S. Korea news once they've had another day or so to gather their talking points. It wouldn't surprise me if they come out with something like the president there was trying to do a good thing with declaring martial law.

The talk there is that they will pick their battles better and not automatically very loudly and publicly fight every last thing with Trump like in his first term. That will give Trump more rope to hang himself with and let the public get worn out mostly by Trump himself and not by the dems inserting themselves into all the drama all the time. I agree the idea makes sense. It is similar to the approach Democrats, under the leadership of Tip O'Neil took to Reagan. Pick your fights when it is a real big issue but otherwise stay quiet and let him have his way/give him the rope to hang himself. Democrats flipped the House and Senate, I think, in the 1982 midterms.

Saying that, there is no oxygen on the left not directly involving Donald Trump. Read any explanation justifying the recent pardon of Hunter Biden-I bet you Donald Trump is > 50% of the content. I am less than convinced the left will have the discipline to follow the plan. These people like to talk and there isn't much Democrats have talked about for a very long time other than Trump.

Maybe not but I think it's more likely most of the dems in congress to be more restrained than Trump. Outside of congress much less likely the liberals stay restrained in their reactions.

I think the difference will be between the lawmakers on the dem side vs the pundits and left media. The dems in Congress will allow Trump to jack up the tariffs, for example. Inflation comes back with a vengeance and it becomes Trump's problem. I don't think it hurts the left at that point if the liberals in media talk about it. I think it makes sense at the governmental level to mostly let Trump do his thing and let the results speak for itself.Talking about it after it didn't work isn't going to hurt them though.
