I really really want to link this thread for my Democrat friends, who all seem to believe there are no Republican votes up for grabs, so why not? Creekster has some gold in here.

I'll vote for Bernie if it comes to it, but I so hope it doesn't.

Bloomberg had a horrible debate but at least he called out Bernie’s socialism/communism.

The Democrats love to eat their own: Pete and Bloomberg are racists, etc. I would happily vote for Klobuchar, Mayor Pete, or Bloomberg. They look good by comparison and Biden has dementia.

I like tooblue and I love Canada (I fondly recall my two years slogging across the frozen landscapes of Quebec) but that nation is a mere pimple on America's economic butt. Everything Canada has and does is a function of sharing the longest undefended border with the greatest economic engine in the world's history. If you took all of Canada and dropped it into the middle of Eastern Europe or Asia it would be a forgotten land and a forgotten people. And I say that with nothing but love in my heart for the place. I realize Canadians have done a lot for the world yadda yadda, but the fact is they are only able to achieve and maintain any economic and social success because they are perched on our shoulder. And they know it and it corrodes them deep inside to admit it.

lol ... economically speaking, that is a reasonably correct assessment, however there is a significant flaw in your conjecture overall. It's the hypothetical: Canada isn't located somewhere in the middle east. It's history is inextricably linked to US history, and not merely because of geography. Frankly, the US would not be the US without Canada. Canadian loyalists kicked the crap out the US and shoved US manifest destiny right up its ass to replace what was voided.

A senior U.S. intelligence official told lawmakers last week that Russia wants to see President Trump reelected, viewing his administration as more favorable to the Kremlin’s interests, according to people who were briefed on the comments.

After learning of that analysis, which was provided to House lawmakers in a classified hearing, Trump grew angry at his acting director of national intelligence, Joseph Maguire, in the Oval Office, seeing him and his staff as disloyal for speaking to Congress about Russia’s perceived preference. The intelligence official’s analysis and Trump’s furious response ruined Maguire’s chances of becoming the permanent intelligence chief, according to people familiar with the matter who, like others, spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive matter.

Trump gave Maguire “a dressing-down,” said another individual, who, like others, spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive matter. “That was the catalyst” that led to the sidelining of Maguire in favor of Grenell, the person said.

Maguire came away “despondent,” said another individual.

I’m increasingly convinced that whomever the democrat is, they will get more votes and should have a very good shot, but Trump will pull and all dirty trick he can to win. That’ll be tough to beat. Don't give me that bullshit. I have been saying this long before now. I didn't vote for Trump in 2016 and will not vote for him in 2020, unless Warren or Sanders are on top of the dem's ticket. I have been saying this all along...I can find posts on hear dating to at least last August saying as much.
