It would be interesting to see the demographics of the protestor. How many are there for every type of protest. They mostly look younger but I also see older people in the group. It is the violent and those that disrupt the public access that bug me. While I may disagree with them, no problem with peaceful protestors

Sure. Like I said, a few isolated examples here and there. But I would hardly classify that as a national phenomenon. Pockets of dumb crackers in the south reacting to public protests.

Its all in the eye of the beholder. As far as I can tell, the protests now are not really a nationwide phenomenon, just some pockets of crazies here and there. On balance, however, I agree that conservatives as a rule do not protest. in fact, the rarity of it is almost proven by his isolated example.

P.S. Maybe you can publish a set of guidelines for when its ok to disagree with you, what points are material and which ones are irrelevant, and when it is ok to take up an argument raised by another. I am so desirous not to offend your message board sensibilities. Can you help me out?

Commando suggested rednecks would do something patriotic, I just filled in the blank with what I think they would do based on my experience. Now, had Trump lost, we might have seen a few nut cases take over a remote federal government duck blind or unoccupied ranger station. That could have happened, but I doubt we would have seen the patriotic displays we are seeing in some of our urban areas these past few days. There are probably a lot of reasons for that.

Stop the insanity!

Days after Donald Trump stunned the world by winning the presidency, liberal America remains in the throes of a massive mental and emotional meltdown.

Anti-Trump protests have spread to more cities and continue to turn violent. In Portland Thursday night, rioters stoned police and vandalized businesses and cars.

Anyone expressing support for Trump has become the target of unrestrained venom: There are calls to boycott New Balance — its sneakers have been publicly burned — because an official said Trump would be better on trade issues.

Meanwhile, the CEO of Grubhub, the online food-delivery service, demanded that employees who agree with Trump resign, because “you have no place here.” (He had to retreat: His lawyers read him the First Amendment and noted that political discrimination also violates California law.)

This is just vicious stuff. But for pure pathos crossing into the absurd, we turn (as usual) to the college campus. Consider:

•  The University of Michigan offered its traumatized students coloring books and Play-Doh to calm them. (Are its students in college or kindergarten?)
•  The University of Kansas reminded its stressed-out kids that therapy dogs, a regular campus feature, were available.
•  Cornell University, an Ivy League school, held a campus-wide “cry-in,” with officials handing out tissues and hot chocolate.
•  Tufts University offered its devastated students arts and crafts sessions. (OK, not kindergarten — more like summer camp.)
•  At campuses from elite Yale to Connecticut to Iowa and beyond, professors canceled classes and/or exams — either because students asked or because instructors were too distraught to teach.
• Anarchist-fueled violence and destruction can’t be tolerated. Nor should corporate (or anti-corporate) temper tantrums that blatantly violate free-speech rights.

Collegiate sobbing and wailing, on the other hand, shouldn’t be tolerated — especially not by the parents who are shelling out tens of thousands of dollars to pay for it.

They are the "everyone gets a trohpy" generation. They keep hearing how smart they are and how we need to listen to them. At least they hear it from the Sanders and Van Jones types.

My question is, how come they haven't fought for equal grades. Are there a lot of colleges that have only pass and fail. I would assume if that is the case, it is prevalent in the Ivy League schools.

Yeah, all we got if we won in little league is not yelled at and maybe a handshake. In college I was too damn busy working multiple jobs to cry about who was president.

I am hoping that Trump keeps Obamacare and expands medicare so I am well taken care of in my old age. Then these young, healthy college students will have something to actually cry about when they join the workforce and pay out the yin-yang to pay my medicare and help me cover my Obamacare costs.
