Stephen Colbert's show from Iraq has been very fun to watch. It's been interesting to see him break character a little.

True that. Colbert has been way better in Iraq than I expected. I like how he riffs on the Bob Hope themes.

The only people who do this right are Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, and it works for them because they play it for laughs. In other words, they present it as the minor crap that it is.

But there is real NEWS going on. The media is so freaking broken.
Hey Finderson, here's your official NOW talking points. You're going to have to take the Palin side on this one.

Just a guess, but I think the fact that he's spent less time in the national spotlight has more to do with the amount of suitable material than race.

Humanah what? Yes, he's spent less time in the spotlight than Bush or Clinton after their first terms, but gee whiz he's been everywhere for over a year now.

You would think comedians would have a hay day with Biden. But then again the White House has him under arrest for when he speaks, he comes up with some doozies. I wish we saw him more.

He's a great poster boy for the Dems.

Interesting comment at the end of that about NOW hoping conservatives will be just as upset when a liberal woman in politics has nasty comments made about how she looks and dresses. This is the same group that defended Bill Clinton's rape of Juanita Broderick.

The jokes were despicable. I would never defend them.

The important thing to remember after all the dust has settled is that David Letterman is not funny and hasn't been for a long long time. He should lose the jokes and just concentrate on interviewing people, or retire.

Personally, I think Ryan Seacrest would make an excellent Tonight Show host. The need for jokes could be passed off to a comedian, and Ryan could handle the interviews.

I have watched the back and forth and commentaries on this situation.

I will admit, before this occured I had a favorable opinion of Palin. She is a heck of a lot smarter than people give her credit for. Of course most people get wowed by the press and they don't like her.

As far as Letterman goes, I like him OK. Don't watch he or Leno. I watch Perry Mason.

How do I come down on this thing. Well, I still like Palin. I think Dave Letterman is a piece of shit.
