I would NEVER want their job, especially with a bunch of internet pansies sitting back and second-guessing their every move.

I think there's a role for reviewing these cases, but not by a bunch of people without any of the facts.

Its sad to hear about Brian Cardall. He lived close to me growing up and I spent many days hanging out at their house. He wasn't a real close friend but one of the neighborhood kids who would get together and play football or basketball. His brother Paul Cardall is an accomplished pianist.

Paul also has some serious congenital heart defects and I think I've heard that he isn't doing well. Very sad for this family.

The thought is that it can induce an arrhythmia. I think it's sketchy. In every place that I've worked, any cop that wants to carry a taser has to be shot with one first to see how it feels. I'm guessing this is a national policy. So we have tens, maybe hundreds, of thousands of cops being shot with tasers and not a single bad outcome, yet suddenly they're inducing arrhythmias right and left? I doubt it.

My guess is that it may induce an epinephrine surge in an already fleeing subject, which may then trigger an arrhythmia in a drugged-up heart (or one amped up from being in a psychotic state). For the 150 or so recorded deaths from tasers (questionable link...), I'm wondering how many people were saved from injuring or killing either themselves or others. From what I've seen, the number is not low.

I have no idea what happened with Cardall.

                If saving 10,000 lives kills 50, you haven't saved 9,950 lives, you've killed 50.

Sorry, but if you can't deal with an old lady half your size without tazing her, you're in the wrong line of work.

Sure, you say that until you run into this woman:

I hope the cops have a copy of this on video otherwise that woman has no chance suing those cops, as you could already hear them starting in with the whole * he was coming right at you* scenario.

Maybe you smart lawyer types can explain how a NAKED man standing by a road with squad cars, lights flashing, and several police onsight can compose a danger to anyone?

The guy was frakking naked for crying out loud, NAKED!!!

Step back, chill out, watch the guy to make sure he doesn't go and lay down in the road, as I'm sure that traffic was crawling by that point to get a look at the goings on, so he wasn't likely to get hit and killed by a speeding car.

I am stunned at the whole nonchalant, cavalier attitude by the police, from a dude they had just stun gunned, and was in cardiac arrest. The whole *well his heart stopped, no pulse* and they are having small talk the whole time, helping fabricate their event of how things went down.

This one is going to get ugly, and it really paints a horrible light on police officers, I for one will take a different approach to police, that's for sure.

The whole thing is just sad.
Let's get on with the gettin' on....

Why would they release these to the public?
