    Not so fast:

The observational evidence does not support the hypothesis that dairy fat or high-fat dairy foods contribute to obesity or cardiometabolic risk, and suggests that high-fat dairy consumption within typical dietary patterns is inversely associated with obesity risk.

        • I agree that it is silly to grow rice in Imperial County, CA, but arent those public water projects really just a transfer from the US Taxpayer to the US Taxpayer? If farmers pay more for their inputs including water, won't they just raise the price of their produce? Then we can all pay $20 per pound for strawberries, or $30 for 5 lbs of wheat. This would surely help the almond crop, as farmers move out of providing staples like carrots and potatoes, and move toward fancy high value food like nuts.

Soy milk? Didn't you see cowboy's posting? That crap is full of hormones.

Yeah, I grew up on raw milk myself. We even sold the cow sh*t milk to our neighbors. I can't stand milk now and never drink it. I guess I know how the sausage is made.

Is Cali getting any of that rain or is Utah taking it all?

It does bother me to say this because of the really good people on this board who live in California. I also have some great fraternity brothers living there.

Just the same my initial nasty response to California's drought is I would be OK if they dried up and blew away. Policies have consequences.

Not so great news for South America.

                        I think this is obvious.

                        • Well, it is too bad we can't send Cali some of our water. The Trinity River is about to run over the levees...

I guess we will send it down to Houston instead.

                          • Thanks, but no thanks. The Trinity is east of here anyway.

The San Jacinto (near me) has been above flood stage for over a week now and it's still climbing. Thankfully my neighborhood is on literally the highest ground in Houston and is in no danger. But people are having issues getting around town with some frequency now.

                            • I don't know if California wants any of that nasty looking water.

Meanwhile, Lake Mead is at record lows and is forecast to hit federal shortage levels by 2017, triggering mandatory cutbacks in Nevada, Arizona and Mexico.

Powell is forecast to hit records lows this year too. Cathedral in the Desert may be uncovered again.

I hope you poor saps in Utah and Colorado aren't collecting your own rainwater. You can get in big trouble for that and it's at a point where people may start to care.
