Not at all. Just that after all the trash talk about invading Mexico and annexing Canada we now need their help. Karma can also be funny.

There are nearly 14,000 personnel deployed to LA to fight the fires. That's an army.

The local volunteers fire departments from my area have all been done there for a week.

        • In a progressional capacity I've worked with wildlife firefighters. That is intense and brutal work.

As climate change keeps speeding along, I think cooperation with our allies, particularly ones close to us, will become more important than ever.

          • Bill Burr bringing the heat on internet experts. The last part is great talking about how he handles emergencies. Relatable.

I love Bill Burr. I thought it was hilarious when he put Joe Rogan in check about about the covid paranoia.

              • i received my ballot today for Prop. 50 which would allow the Legislature to redraw Congressional districts (currently done by an independent commission) in a way that would likely add five Democratic representatives. The express purpose of the temporary (five-year) change is to offset the Texas legislature's recently gerrymandered districts that will add roughly five GOP seats to the house. The California action is necessary for the Democrats to retake the House. This single ballot measure is costing $280 Million which could certainly be used for better purposes.

So, were you in my position how would you vote? Though I was a registered Republican for for nearly 50 years, i am so disgusted by the Republicans currently in charge that i'd love to provide a more effective check against Trump and oust the invertebrates that currently dominate the GOP. I also think what the Texas GOP did runs counter to constitutional principles and is yet another cynical bit of sleaze. But i'm voting no because i'd like to think we can better than our currently dismal state.

Oh, and Trump is mentally and morally unfit to be President.

                  I would vote Yes.

Trump and his sycophantic cabinet is one thing, but an enabling congress that is abdicating its role as a co-equal branch of government is what is really hurting the country.

I can’t count the number of times I’ve emailed Celeste Malloy begging her to do her constitutional job. Take back the power of tariffs, of making laws not by EO, etc.

if Trump gets another GOP congress in his last two years, we are even more screwed.

Gerrymandering is unethical and wrong. Personally, I disagree with stooping to their level.

Congress has passed a total of 35 bills so far in 2025. Fifteen of them were just disapproving of administrative regulations. Two were renaming things. This is the biggest do-nothing Congress in memory.

                        This is the correct answer.

We have so much do-do right now because people justify shortcuts and wrongs to address the "greater wrong."

                        It doesn't help.

Invalidate Shelby County v. Holder, send Texas back to preclearance, staff the DOJ Civil Rights Division with professionals, and I would agree with you.

I voted for the proposition that created that independent commission. I am sad that we are proposing overriding it. I agree with you and just got my ballot today.

Exactly, that’s the kinds of language that Trump uses to justify the unjustifiable.
