    FOS
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

It does make me curious how the LDS church would respond if BSA changed their policy.

Is BSA weighing their options between the financial support of businesses like UPS and that of churches like the LDS among others?

That is what I'm thinking. What percentage of active boy scout troops are LDS? I still won't donate to FOS.

what is stupid is that if there were such a thing as an active, openly gay LDS boy, you know he'd be expected to participate in scouts. The church wouldn't prevent or discourage him from attending his quorum activities.

Yep. I will gladly donate money for scouts in my ward to go to camp if they can't cover it. I'll give them all sorts of jobs to do: yardwork, cleaning, etc. if they are required to earn that money, but I don't want to donate to someone's salary increase.

Because the money doesn't stay in your area.

It goes to pay bloated salaries of lifetime adult "scouters" who mange the BSA council's.
Will donate kidney for B12 membership.

                          Bloated...... Really?

Have you looked at comparable compensation packages for non-profits?

What we can't go backpacking without FOS? Pretty sure I still can. FOS is a POS.

Yeah. What I don't get is that BSA seems OK with gays as long as they don't tell anyone. It is just the openly gay boys who aren't allowed. But that doesn't mean there aren't already gays in the BSA.
