I have HUGE hopes that Pres. Trump will decided candidate Trump did NOT know more than the generals. I hope he listens intently to what his cabinet has to say.Originally posted by Walter Sobchak View PostDoes anyone know what Trump wants?
I believe Trump has gone on record saying he opposes regime change in Syria. But Trump "on record" is practically meaningless; he could have just said that because Ms. Clinton was "for" it.

The likelihood of someone actually listening to others for counsel is a direct function of that person's self-awareness, recognition of his own shortcomings, and humility. I don't think I've ever seen a person more lacking in those areas than DJT. Still, one can hope, just as I am for a winning Powerball ticket.Originally posted by byu71 View PostI have HUGE hopes that Pres. Shockingly, Trump has not changed into the person that his supporters in the GOP hoped/claimed that he would.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostThe likelihood of someone actually listening to others for counsel is a direct function of that person's self-awareness, recognition of his own shortcomings, and humility. On the face of it, I agree with you. What gives me pause though is it is hard to argue the guy in the financial and I guess now political world has been successful. Even if he did get a handout to start with, not evertyone who does becomes that successful.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostThe likelihood of someone actually listening to others for counsel is a direct function of that person's self-awareness, recognition of his own shortcomings, and humility. I know someone who a lot of people consider a major a-hole. Very close friend and when someone comes up and says "your friend........is an a-hole, I just agree". However, knowing him in private he goes overboard fulfilling his church callings. He has done a lot of charitable giving that no one knows about. People don't realize that for about 30 years he worked from 4 in the morning until 7 or 8 at night.
With Donald, maybe he is just a straight ego maniac and his Presidency will not go well. I again am in hopes there is more to him than what we see.

The best we can hope for at this point is that he becomes a figurehead and the GOP congress calls the shots. Who knows if he will actually allow that.Originally posted by byu71 View PostI have HUGE hopes that Pres. Trump will decided candidate Trump did NOT know more than the generals. If you believe JL and the Dems, then yes.Originally posted by BlueK View PostDoesn't Trump want Russia to be calling the shots?

Does he or does he not want the US to pretty much step away from the middle east? If you agree that seems to be his view, then isn't allowing the Russians to more or less call the shots there a given? I mean, if they care what's going on there and we don't then what is the most likely result of that?Originally posted by Moliere View PostIf you believe JL and the Dems, then yes.

Being successful in your real estate business isn't the same thing as understanding what's best for the nation's entire economy. His success is primarily the result of incredible ambition and unequaled skill at self-promotion/marketing. I don't think great presidential leadership has much to do with those traits. But yes, he amassed a lot of wealth, although I recall reading that if he had simply put all of the money that was given to him into an index fund (with no financial advisors!) from day one, his net worth today would be slightly higher than it is currently. Of course, he wouldn't have been able to bankrupt multiple companies, stiff countless vendors and employees, or lose hundreds of millions given to him or his companies by investors and lenders, so I admire his effort.Originally posted by byu71 View Post... You didn't mention that all these Russian cyber attacks on the democrats and DNC happened on Obama's watch. If the DNC/democrats got hacked then isn't it ultimately Obama's fault? What did Obama's people at the CIA, FBI, NSA, DHS, and the other 13 intelligence agencies do to detect and stop this cyber attack? This is all starting to smell like cyber version of 9/11 where all the so called "intelligence" agencies failed to do their job and protect us. Heads need to roll! Personally I think about 11 or 12 of these government intelligence agencies should be shut down or merged. Again they have proven that they are worthless in stopping threats so why have them? The Obama administration failed us just like Bush administration failed us by not detecting and stopping the 9/11 attacks. Now, not only do we have worry about being blown up by terrorists we have to worry about being hacked by the Ruskies. Thanks government!Originally posted by Color Me Badd Fan View PostJohn Podesta, the guy whose password was "pa$$word," has called for an intelligence briefing before the electoral college meets.
In other words, the big media push of this story happens to coincide with the Clinton people trying to muddle the electoral college when they meet. Also pretty funny is the fact that wikileaks showed how the Clinton people and the media got together on numerous occasions to screw Sanders, Jeb Bush, etc.
Is there any info now that's available that wasn't available before? As far as I can tell, the majority of those hacked emails came from John Podesta's account. Apparently, this nefarious intelligence gathering ability of the Russians includes logging into email accounts with dumb passwords.
There's no info on hacked voting machines. Is it just the wikileaks stuff? Sure the Russians are behind that, but what exactly are we supposed to do now?
