http://christiantimesnewspaper.com/b...for-2016-race/BREAKING: Romney’s campaign finance accounts reactivated for 2016 race
[...]
In late January and early February of 2016, Romney’s campaign finance entities, which by law are subject to FEC regulations, were both reactivated with amended campaign statements.
FEC records indicate that Romney’s former campaign committee, Romney for President, and Romney’s affiliated PAC, Romney Victory Fund, were both reactivated earlier this year, making them legally able to solicit donations and organize for his presidential campaign.
[...]
One told us that Romney “would only be making these changes” if he in fact “was going to run for President in 2016.”
Another, a former McCain finance staffer indicated that this evidence shows “without a doubt” that Romney has plans to run as a Republican this year.
In the days and weeks following Romney’s Trump-bashing, it will be interesting to see whether or not the 2012 candidate makes any further moves to run in 2016.

The idea is they're going throw out the rule that requires a candidate win 8 states in order to be voted on at the convention.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostOooh, juicy!
See MBN, This is the stuff conspiracy theories are made of!
Everyone is going scorched earth on Trump and he'll be toxic by the convention.
Cruz is despised by the entire establishment.
Rubio appears to be a lightweight.
Kasich is too moderate and hasn't received enough support.
So it creates the possibility that a consensus guy could get nominated at the convention. That's why Romney gave the speech last week.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

So it seems that everyone (including me) is drawing comparisons between Trump and Hitler. Even Mike Godwin himself, the inventor of Godwin's Law, claims that the comparisons may be reasonable.

First, let me get this Donald Trump issue out of the way: If you’re thoughtful about it and show some real awareness of history, go ahead and refer to Hitler or Nazis when you talk about Trump."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

A fascist vs. a corrupt, super incompetent, compulsive liar. The constitution is hanging by a thread.Part of it is based on academic grounds. It makes for great entertainment and veiwership for TV and fodder for all the political nitwit pundits to make wild speculations. Trump is like Hitler, open convention or whatever they call it, republican party ruined for decades.
I have seen many wild speculations in my many years on this earth and despite some really crappy Presidents and congresses life goes on and America stays great and whole. I can't believe how much these pundits in the media make. They are one of the most overpaid groups in the land. There are better analysis made on this board than in the press.

No he loves the press, he also knows how much the press is loathed and he knows how to manipulate the nitwit communications majors.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostYou know who else shares an irrational and intense hatred of the press? Don't be ridiculous. No other candidate in modern history has vowed to muzzle the press like Trump has done.Originally posted by Color Me Badd Fan View PostNo he loves the press, he also knows how much the press is loathed and he knows how to manipulate the nitwit communications majors.

And this was not an isolated incident. He vowed to go after Amazon after Bezos purchased a controlling interest in the Washington Post.Donald Trump has said a lot of strange things -- some funny, some creepy, but none scarier than what he said on Friday: that if he is elected president, he will "open up our libel laws" to make it easier to sue the media and "win lots of money." No matter what you may think about his other policy ideas, if he keeps this promise, we won't be able to effectively express dissent against anything else he might want to do. We can fight any bad policy if we have a robust First Amendment.
Here is the full quote. Just read it and let the implications sink in for a moment.
"Loves the press", my ass.Trump said, “I tell you what, I think the media is among the most dishonest groups of people I’ve ever met. The New York Times, which is is losing a fortune, which is not going to be around much longer, although someone will probably buy it, I think it’s the worst media I’ve ever seen in my entire life. The worst. They have the worst agenda. You would not believe. And they’re totally incompetent. I have respect for Jeff Bezos. He bought The Washington Post to have political influence — we have a different country than we used to have. We have a different –he owns Amazon. He wants political influence so that Amazon will benefit from it. That’s not right. and believe me, if I become president, oh, do they have problems. They’re going to have such problems.”
“And one of the things I’m going to do, and this is only going to make it tougher for me — and I’ve never said this before, but one of the things I’m going to do if I win, and I hope I do, and we’re certainly getting there, I’m going to open up the libel laws so when they write horrible and negative and false articles, we can sue them and win lots of money,” he continued. “We’re going to open up those libel laws, so that when The New York Times writes a hit piece which is a total disgrace, or when The Washington Post, which is there for other reasons, writes a hit piece, we can sue them and win money instead of having no chance of winning because they’re totally protected. You see? With me they’re not protected, because I’m not like other people, but I’m not taking money. I’m not taking their money. So we can put up those libel laws and we’ll have people sue you like you never got sued before.”"There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."
