Maybe Camille Paglia is right. She predicted that Hillary wouldn't even make it to the debates and that she will withdraw, sighting some sort of medical issue.

Gee. What do young voters take seriously. I am sure you aren't indicating they take the Dems seriously. How much of their actions are based on thought vs emotion?Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostGee. I wonder why most young voters don't take the GOP seriously???
Of course I am talking in general and certainly not about any of the young voters who are offspring of those on this board.

So young voters are voters who do so without thinking, just based upon meaningless emotional promises that can't be kept. Gotcha. The country will be in wonderful hands after we depart.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostNot the GOP!"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

The good news is they won't always be young. At some point they have to earn a living, support a family, let their children know everything doesn't come free and if they are good parents let their kids know there are winners and losers.Originally posted by Topper View PostSo young voters are voters who do so without thinking, just based upon meaningless emotional promises that can't be kept. The argument of the fusnicks is that middle class voters who have not been discriminated against don't understand what it's like to live under government oppression. Thus, there needs to be an equalizer for the horrible things done to people. An individual can vote for "equalization". Equalization often takes the form of "getting even" or "leveling the score". The CRA is an example of a perhaps well-intended law that had bad consequences.Originally posted by byu71 View PostThe good news is they won't always be young. The problem I have is that these young voters don't have a good understanding of efficient and successful economic and political principles. There is an axiom that bad facts make bad law. The corollary is that a voter who suffered badly may vote badly based on a distorted perspective."Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

LOL, like I want to argue the difference between the GOP's and Dems' appeal to young voters with you guys.
Look, examining it alone, two relatively high-profile GOP candidates have views on abortion that are too extreme for most Mormon voters. Now try to understand why young voters who have opposite views would have a hard time listening to the other issues the GOP may be right about.
At some point, no matter how just your cause is, you still have to be able to sell it. The GOP can't do that."...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Or you could ask "young people" to realize that they shouldn't be so shallow as to allow their vote to be determined on a single issue that no single president is likely to have any significant impact on.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostLOL, like I want to argue the difference between the GOP's and Dems' appeal to young voters with you guys.

And you could say the same thing on the other side, where a significant proportion of voters won't even consider letting a candidate progress out of the primaries if he/she isn't pro-life enough.Originally posted by imanihonjin View PostOr you could ask "young people" to realize that they shouldn't be so shallow as to allow their vote to be determined on a single issue that no single president is likely to have any significant impact on."...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd.
