The US has the most progressive income tax in the world. With the rates that were passed a few years ago, the rich are already taxed plenty. The real problem is the Bush tax cuts cut too many people out of the system -- more people should be paying at least a little tax. It would also hopefully make more people thoughtful about how the government spends money. But who am I kidding?Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Or a single rate tax which has minimal progressivism, but aims to be fair across the board.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostYes indeed. Let's implement a regressive tax system nationwide. Screw the poor!

It is especially true for those of us who are only indirect beneficiaries of government, as opposed to direct beneficiaries. If you are middle class or upper middle class you contribute the lion's share, yet reap the minimal benefit. A single rate tax is the only path to fairness. No, Weld said if Comey didn't have details he should've "kept his mouth shut."Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostWeld is just saying that the FYI/DoJ should have locked crooked Hillary up a long time ago and never let it fester all the way up to the election. Then the liberals may have had Bernie as their candidate. Fortunately the Libertarians gives the republicans and dems an escape from their party's craphole candidates.Last edited by frank ryan; 10-31-2016, 11:45 AM.

Comey was in a damned if you do or damned if you do not situation. If he had failed to disclose it, he could have considered in contempt of Congress. It was simply an effort at self-preservation.Originally posted by frank ryan View PostNo, Weld said if Comey didn't have details he should've "kept his mouth shut.""Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

The polls are tightening up and the media is definitely reporting that to drum up excitement and audience for election coverage. However, looking at the current map Clinton only needs 7 more electoral votes and it would seem unlikely at this point that Trump would take every single state in gray, especially considering all the votes already cast in early voting in many swing states while Trump's numbers were at their lowest point.
