You are the smartest guy on the board and you are asking me?

Here is what I think, not that you really care. Tim Cane is a staunch catholic and has been anti abortion. Hillary is pro abortion to the point of allowing a woman to have one anytime and also is for the government paying for it. To me he is putting ideology above his "so called" principles.

For sure republicans do this to, but the dems in my opinion are far more willing to do so because fundamentist religions are not part of their base.

Based on so called principles, evangelicals stayed home and wouldn't vote for Romney. Based on principles mormons won't vote for Trump. So many contrasting principles within the republican party.

As for the democrats and most of the press, ideology is more important than so called principles (IMHO).

Democrats reflect what a growing number of voters want, to be taken care by government because they don't see the individual solutions so they want the magical solution of government sweeping down and solving all problems. They don't want market solutions or any solution with personal risk. This is the malaise of modern day voters. Perhaps it's tied to the economic singularity of automation. I 'm not certain how, but GOP ideology of austerity and limited government doesn't sell well with Millennials and new immigrants. To win, you will need to go Bernie on voters promising them things without regard to their affordability or viability.

You know, perhaps I should find a place where the IQ isn't so high to hang out. I try, but apparently just to dense for this place.

Don't you think it is possible for someone to be anti-abortion and pro-choice at the same time? Maybe one of his strongly-held principles is that the government should not be making this choice for people.

Crazy talk! If one does not drink alcohol then one must be in favor of banning alcohol. If one is not personally interested in getting gay married then one mist be against gay marriage. Have you no principles?!

The government makes choices for us all the time. The democrats are big believers in government regulations and getting involved in making decisions for us. So when they (the government) do and when they don't I would call ideology not principle.

So you are just filtering information as a means of confirmation bias. Figures.
