Maybe what BYU71 is trying to tell us here is that Ron is not really Rand's father?
My deepest apologies to the Libertarians out there. I guess I just don't follow them close enough to know which is the father and which is the son.
I do know for sure Bernie isn't the Holy Ghost. I finally listened to one of his speeches all the way through. I don't know where he thinks all the money is going to come from for all the give aways. Why would he be on the cop bashing bandwagon? I thought his sweet spot was white people.

Bernie Sanders as silly as his socialist ideas are, doesn't have any chance of putting them into effect or getting elected. He's irrelevant. Trump's ideas would be just as disastrous to America and he probably does have a shot at winning and putting some of them into effect. Unfortunately his opponents are doing a horrible job of talking to his supporters in language they can understand why Trump's proposed tariffs would be bad for them. Namely, that they'd have to pay that huge tax on the items they buy every day at Walmart. The higher prices and job losses coming from Trump's horrible ideas would hit his own people the hardest. That's the case Cruz and Kasich need to make with the voters, but they're doing a ridiculously bad job of it.

Sanders last night said the polls show him beating Trump by 20 and Hillary only beat him by 12. Bernie is the only won who wins against the other two republicans. I think Bernie really believes his ideas wouldn't lead to a major, major recession. I don't know what Trump really, really believes except he is in love with himself.
If we get a republican congress I will be really happy because I could then tolerate whoever became President. Tolerate is not being happy.

Conclusion
Senator Bernie Sanders would enact a number of tax policies that would raise tax revenue over the next decade. Together, his proposals would significantly expand federal revenue collections by $13.6 trillion on a static basis, driven mostly by broad-based taxes on income and payroll. If enacted, the Sanders plan would significantly increase marginal tax rates on capital and labor income, which would result in a substantial reduction of the size of the U.S. economy in the long run. This would decrease the revenue that the new tax policies would ultimately collect to $9.8 trillion. Senator Sanders’s plan would decrease after-tax incomes for taxpayers at all income levels, but especially high-income taxpayers.
Which, of course, eliminates the death tax for Donald Jr.

Some of Trump's worst ideas actually would have a good chance of passing congress using democrat votes. Many of his proposals cut across traditional lines. He'd only need a few chumps from the republican side to get a few of his worst ideas passed. It wouldn't be that hard.

Also not taken into account are the number of very high income earners that would just go ahead and retire and reduce their income quite a bit. A lot of these people don't really need the money, they need something to do but they aren't going to work and hand most of it to the government.
I know some very good and wealthy executives are retiring in the next year. They have plenty of money and don't want to deal with the new regulatory environment and potential tax rates.
The Republican presidential race is taking up most of the oxygen in the media, but in case you need a reminder about what a weak candidate Hillary Clinton is, here is a quick summary of the doldrums plaguing the Empire. Despite the air of inevitability that continues to surround Clinton, her fundraising is weak, Democratic turnout and enthusiasm is low, her poll numbers are lousy, the investigation into her emails is smoldering and voters don’t see her as honest or authentic. Yet in spite of it all, Clinton continues her limp toward the nomination.
That lack of enthusiasm is also evident in the primaries so far. Democratic turnout is down almost 11 percent compared to 2008. And it’s under-reported that many of Clinton’s “big wins” have come in states where she won’t even try to be competitive in the general election. South Carolina? Clinton won’t step foot back in that state before the general election. In Mississippi, another “great victory” for Clinton? She won’t even fly over Mississippi anytime between now and November. Where she needs votes, turnout is low and often against her – as in Michigan – and there are indications that the votes against her represent a healthy share of skeptical or downright antagonistic voters in the Democratic party. The New York Times points out that “white men narrowly backed Hillary Clinton in her 2008 race for president, but they are resisting her candidacy this time around in major battleground states.” She lost the white male vote in Ohio, North Carolina, Florida, Illinois and Missouri. And young voters are affirmatively rejecting what she is selling. The Post’s Aaron Blake reports that Sanders has won more than 1.5 million votes from those under 30 – compared to a little more than 625,000 who cast votes for Clinton.
Clinton is not going to become more honest. She’s not going to suddenly produce any enthusiasm. She’s not going to create an inspired platform of new ideas or fresh thinking. Her only chance at success appears to be if the Republicans hand her a gift. And, counting on your opponent to be responsible for your turnout and appeal is, at best, an unreliable proposition.
I still think she wins rather easily, but man is she a flawed candidate. The republicans really blew it this time.
In a race where every delegate counts, it might just be the Mormons who prevent Trump from reaching the 1,237 delegate threshold he needs to secure the GOP nomination.

It would be so cool for mormondom if they actually voted for Kasich. The country would have new profound respect for our intelligence. I would love to see Mike Lee sweat for two years.
