Early numbers in Maine are bad for Trump also. If Louisiana doesn't go well for him tonight it is probably a sign that his crap is catching up to him.

Everyone wants to believe that, but it looks like Trump will win Maine and Kentucky easily. Edit: My bad I just saw Cruz is still up in Maine. My surgically scarred eyes red the results backwards.Last edited by Omaha 680; 03-05-2016, 05:35 PM.

Rubio is doing incredibly bad today. Hen ever should have stepped in the gutter with Trump. He won't drop out before Florida but he should.
Maine is going to Cruz. That's crazy."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. Why am I surprised at this? There is a reason why the establishment and their candidate (Rubio) are dead men walking. This is yet another example. There is a reason that the only candidate, not named Trump, doing well is Cruz. The GOP as we know it is being taken off of life support.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostCruz can thank Mitch McConnell for his support in Kentucky.

Actually, Trump way underperformed in both LA and KY. He was pummeling the field in the polls last week yet only won each state by about FOUR points in each. Interestingly, the earlier returns tonight in LA showed Trump way ahead and then the gap narrowed substantially the rest of the night. One of the things they said was the that earliest numbers were from early voting in the state, which started three weeks ago. So that tends to support the theory that Trump has been losing ground. We'll see if it continues. This seems to be bearing out in the other states as well.Originally posted by Omaha 680 View PostEveryone wants to believe that, but it looks like Trump will win Maine and Kentucky easily. The last poll in Kansas from less than a week ago had Trump ahead by six points. Cruz then wins by 25 points. You can go to realclearpolitics and see the comparison between actual results and the polls in each state, and despite the media narrative going around about Trump running away with it, he has done worse in actual voting than the polls in almost every state. I don't think this is over just yet, but Trump is still on top but I do think he's on a downward trend due to the recent debates and all the crap following him recently.
It's amusing when Trump keeps saying if all these states were winner take all it would be over. Well, duh, but why in the world should someone who gets about 35% of the vote deserve to get 100% of the delegates?
Also, Rubio can be seen as the 'loser' tonight, but in reality, he did as expected. There weren't high expectations of him tonight in these states. He didn't campaign hard in any of them. So 15-20% or so isn't as bad as it could have been for him. He's throwing the kitchen sink at Florida and some think he's tightening it there. In Virginia he came from down 20 points to losing by 3. He seems to be working really hard but not getting rewarded with wins. Also, another thing to keep in mind as Cruz reportedly is gaining steam in Florida is that Cruz is going to be doing well in the part of Florida (the panhandle) where Trump was set to pound Rubio. So actually, while it's being said by the pundits that Cruz starting to hit Florida would hurt Rubio, I think it's actually true that he helps him because he's going to be weakening Trump in the panhandle.
Rubio needs to do well in S. Florida and the population centers, and I think there is still a reasonable chance he will. The question is whether he'll be hurt by the media narrative tonight that he did really badly, which I think is being made to sound worse than it really was. The real story of the night was Cruz doing better than expected. He destroyed Trump in the states he won and still came close in the states Trump was expected to blow away the field but did not.Last edited by BlueK; 03-05-2016, 08:46 PM.
