  • The stock markets do not affect the average consumer directly. They might affect interest rates but even that is attenuated.

Democrats inevitably trend towards neo Keynesian monetary-fiscal ploicies which affect small to medium-sized businesses negatively. Most of us are affected by the small business market. It is for that reason one should vote Republican.

Fusnick is trying to play the intellectual by claiming some large market benefit through the election of Keynesian Democrats.

"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

      Returns:

      Dems 15%
      Bad Guys 5%

      Standard Deviation:

      Dems 5.2%
      Bad Guys 5.6%

If I'm an investor in the markets through my 401k, which most professionals are and everyone most likely should be, my net worth is intimately connected with the performance of the markets. If my livelihood in retirement is dependent on my retirement accounts, which most are since pensions are increasingly rare, I want the juice of the market.

To say the average consumer isn't affected by market performance directly is one Of the dumbest things I ve read on the Internet.

Is that the only time you've seen the term in wikipedia? I suppose you skipped your basic macroeconomics classes at BYU then. Too bad.

                Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

If the Royals would win, I would. Ball in the dirt didn't help much.

                  • Mitt is moving to Utah!

                    http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/politic...laday.html.csp

Utah has always claimed Mitt Romney, and now Romney is making it official.
The former presidential candidate and his wife, Ann, decided "on a lark" to make their permanent home in Holladay after selling their town house in Belmont, Mass., according to a New York Times report.
The Times noted an unusual problem the Romneys face in relocating: the piles and piles of political memorabilia from his two presidential runs and time as governor.Romney had crammed them into the garage at his lake house in Wolfeboro, N.H., but feared the snowy winters could ruin them.
So, the Times reported, Romney paid a guy named Poppy to drive them across country.

hadnt thought of that. If he does (wearing gear), I would strongly consider voting for him. If he tries to play both sides of the fence by going to a Ute game, deal is off.

                        • If he does run in 2016, I think Mitt's relocation moves Utah solidly into the (R) column.

it will also help solidify Mitt's image as a moderate/progressive on social issues, will really help him with blacks, latinos, and women, and will finally put to rest the notion that he is going to be influenced by the leaders of his Church.

If I were Mitt (how awesome!), I would run for school board in Lindon just to see if it is indeed possible to get 100% of the vote in an election outside of North Korea.

I don't know he tells jokes like leaders of the church do in meetings. Meaning, unfunny but people laugh loudly at.
