Tim, you are absolutely unreadable when it comes to politics. As a guy leaning on the fence who watches and doesn't really say much politically, I'm almost to the point in this thread where I'd vote for Romney solely to not be politically associated with you, and that's independent of the merits of anything you say. Unless your posts are not intended to be something more than a violent masturbatory exercise, then you might want to reconsider your approach.Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

Tim, don't be like calicoug. I don't read his posts in any political threads."Seriously, is there a bigger high on the whole face of the earth than eating a salad?"--SeattleUte

Hey, I can understand and respect that approach. Part of my move left was a reaction to the hyper-conservative viewpoints I was surrounded with when in lived in Utah. Cougarboard also had a significant impact on my move leftward. You do whatever you need to do, nikuman. If you don't like my posts, ignore me. If you don't like my opinions or my approach, so be it. But I am indeed free to post however I'd like, and your attempt here to pressure me into comformity or silence isn't going to work.Originally posted by nikuman View PostTim, you are absolutely unreadable when it comes to politics. This quote makes no sense.Originally posted by Tim View PostOh, NOW it makes sense why Romney is so dead-set on having more ships even if the Navy isn't asking for it: http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2012...-romneys-navy/
I shouldn't be so surprised. What a corruption machine this guy is carrying with him, though!
He has profited hugely from the Navy’s slow growth in recent years —
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

That doesn't make any sense, though! Why is it that a chorus of people can say that Obama is corrupt, and we can have thread after thread after thread of people piling on unnecessarily, but in ONE RESPONSE I point out a potential bit of Romney's corruption and my "approach" is called into question? Do we only allow an approach that celebrates Romney and rips on the current President? It's like 100 people versus me and you guys think *I'm* the one who needs to check my approach?!?Originally posted by Lost_Student View Post

You may want to reconsider. Nikuman's vote is up for grabs and it all comes down to you and your posting style.Originally posted by Tim View PostHey, I can understand and respect that approach. Nikuman is smart enough to know that he'll vote for whoever he wants to vote for, and he'll support whatever politic he wants to support. I support his freedom to vote however he wants and for whatever reason he wants. I respect Nikuman and that's not going to change.Originally posted by YOhio View PostYou may want to reconsider. You're a true political rebel. You've really taught Utah and CB a thing or two about the benefits of balanced political views. Taking President Obama debate tactics is the wise approach. Well played.Originally posted by Tim View PostHey, I can understand and respect that approach. I read through the article. It describes how the adviser profited with help from the stimulus and Obama administration decisions. Not that there is anything wrong with that, who else is going to get ship building or repair contracts than ship yards? Or for that matter why is it shocking that a naval adviser works in the maritime industry in addition to being a former secretary of the navy?

I didn't mean that as a negative, CJF: Being a part of CB and living in Utah gave me a lot more exposure to conservative ideals than I had ever seen before. I was president of the Republican Club at my high school but it was more of a unique "Southern California Republican" kind of thing. Living in Utah led me to see what true American conservativism is like, and I found that it didn't really represent the political beliefs that I had. The move leftward was a result of realizing that I wasn't REALLY a conservative. It wasn't like I was TRYING TO DISTINGUISH MYSELF from them. I just realized I wasn't really one of them.Originally posted by CJF View PostYou're a true political rebel. Is Romney corrupt? No. Neither is Obama. Some people here like to be melodramatic about this particular President, though, and they don't appear to want a "discussion" of ideals. I'm just trying to fit in my keeping the tone of discourse here consistent.Visca Catalunya Lliure

If only you were willing to exercise this much moderation and give this much benefit of the doubt whenever someone accused President Obama of corruption.Originally posted by SCcoug View Post
