  • Obama Administration Knew Of Terrorist Threats In Libya Before Attack Says Congressional Subcommittee

The Obama Administration, who for two weeks claimed the attack on US consulate in Benghazi resulted from crowd protesting anti-Muslim video, in fact knew of Al Qaeda terrorist threats before the attack which claimed four American lives in September 11 attack but denied US diplomat's requests for additional security.

The Obama Administration knew, before the September 11 attack in Benghazi Libya, that terrorists were responsible for the attack and not popular protests over an anti-Muslim video that got out of hand. The Administration's story that the attack resulted from street protests over a video trailer were an attempt to cover up terrorist involvement because reality contradicts the President's campaign claim that he has largely defeated Al Qaeda.

As far back as April, Obama Administration officials became aware of a long string of terrorist threats and attacks in Libya that lead-up to the September 11 attack in Benghazi that killed four Americans. American diplomats in Libya began asking the Obama Administration for additional security in Benghazi in the run-up to the Sept. 11 attack on the consulate but were "denied these resources," two congressional lawmakers said.

In a letter Tuesday to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., and Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah asked for more information on those requests for additional security and other concerns. The letter from the House Oversight Committee details a series of attacks and other security incidents in Benghazi that started in April, and asked the State Department what measures it took to address the threat. The Committee claims officials have told them of "repeated requests" for additional security.

The letter to Secretary Clinton states that, "Based on information provided to the committee by individuals with direct knowledge of events in Libya, the attack that claimed the ambassador's life was the latest in a long line of attacks on Western diplomats and officials in Libya in the months leading up to September 11, 2012." They added, "In addition, multiple U.S. federal government officials have confirmed to the committee that, prior to the September 11 attack, the U.S. mission in Libya made repeated requests for increased security in Benghazi. The mission in Libya, however, was denied these resources by officials in Washington."
So Clinton/Obama blatantly lied about the situation being a "spontaneous riot" and tried to stir up religious hate to cover up the truth. There's nothing to see here. Just yet another Obama administration cover up to hide its f'ups. Move along.

One of the grandest benefits of the enlightenment was the realization that our moral sense must be based on the welfare of living individuals, not on their immortal souls. Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.

The officer, Eric Nordstrom, who was based in Tripoli until about two months before the September attack, said a State Department official, Charlene Lamb, wanted to keep the number of U.S. security personnel in Benghazi "artificially low," according to a memo summarizing his comments to a congressional committee that was obtained by Reuters.

Nordstrom also argued for more U.S. security in Libya by citing a chronology of over 200 security incidents there from militia gunfights to bomb attacks between June 2011 and July 2012. Forty-eight of the incidents were in Benghazi.
Director of National Intelligence James Clapper told a conference in Florida on Tuesday that there was no advanced warning about the Libya attack.

            • I'm honestly starting to think that Obama is a dumbass. I never thought that before. I thought he was smart but misguided. But between recent events, the debate, etc. I'm really starting to wonder if we don't have GWB 2.0.

GW isn't nearly as stupid as Obama.

Obama has just completely mailed in the last two years of his presidency.

That explains the massive debt we've seen in the USPS.

                        • I've though this Libya story would gradually go away, but not only is it not going away, it's getting worse for the President. I haven't watched the testimony today but the excerpts appear to be devastating.

I'm wondering if Hilary's going to be thrown under the bus here by the administration in an effort to shield Obama from blame. The media chose Obama over Hilary before.

Truth be told, Hilary probably does have quite a bit of blame here. In fact, she deserves much more than Obama -- she runs the State Department.

But the incompetence in the lead-up to what happened is a different issue from how the administration responded by trying to obfuscate/cover-up what happened and the causes. While Hilary should be blamed for the former, Obama should be blamed for the latter.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

                              • Michael Hastings: The Media Dropped the Ball on Benghazi

So why hasn’t it yet captured the collective media mind? Republican critics make the case that it’s the pro-Obama main-stream media at work again, and the Republican National Committee has kept up a steady stream of product, making the case that Benghazi should be a much bigger issue.
And they might have a point — more than a few members of the media covering the story have privately wondered whether the widespread editorial disinterest can be chalked up to Big Media’s preference for Obama.
Certainly, it's hard to imagine that under a Bush administration it would be treated the same. If this kind of catastrophic attack — and cover-up — had happened in 2004 or 2008, it would have likely dominated presidential debates and re-shaped election coverage.
“Romney had front pages of fucking The Toledo Blade attacking him for his press release after Benghazi,” one Republican official told BuzzFeed. “You can quibble over timing , but there was outrage on the cable channels about it. Where are those voices now saying, ‘what’s the administration bungling here, didn’t they fuck this up?’”
