I just feel the need to say...

My wife loves Chick-fil-A. So sometimes when we are out and it is lunchtime, that is where we stop. But there really isn't a CFA close enough to our home for me to make a trip out of my way just to go there.

That said - all of this talk about spicy sandwiches, waffle fries, lemonade, and delicious shakes has hit me pretty hard and initiated a craving.

All in all, a lot of free marketing for the most important aspect to a fast food chain -- whether the food is good or not and without fail people have said its pretty damn good (I'm sure there's some commentary out there that it's not good, I just haven't seen it).

Their menu is somewhat limited compared to other chains, but they know what their strengths are and they concentrate on those strengths. Their french fries are fantastic and the breading on their chicken sandwiches is heads and shoulders better than anyone else.

All employees at CFA literally bend over backwards to serve you. Back a couple pages there is that video of the drive-up window girl that gets absolutely blasted by that guy. I'd venture to say that I'd expect that reaction from just about every employee I've ever had serve me at CFA.

It's also already been said, but their community support is off the charts. Several nights a week they hold fundraisers and special nights for the local schools, church groups, sports teams, etc. There is no other business in my neck of the woods that supports the community like CFA.

I was very surprised. Normally I would never just go into a chicken joint unless it was tried and true. But when I bit into that sandwich that was brought back to the office, I gained a testimony of its truthfulness.

This is all true. I love that they come around and ask me if I need anything like a drink refill or more CFA sauce because I have used up an entire cup on one waffle fry.

Our daughter's school frequently has fundraisers there and we always go in support.

In my experience, their restaurants are significantly cleaner as well.

Yep. I mentioned the run I participated in that gave out prizes. Chick Fil A gave a lot of freebies, even though they got booed every time they were mentioned. Such a bullshit "backlash" in my opinion. What did he do? Made an Evangelical Christian statement during an interview, as an Evangelical Christian--not a franchise credo or some sort of crazy, I don't know, 'proclamation to the world' as it were. Was his Christianity a secret before? The place closes on Sunday. You have mayors of three major cities pledging to not allow your store within its limits? Is this an Orwellian nightmare I'm glimpsing? If this is now what Christians are getting, it's only a short, short, matter of time before it's going to sound really crazy to admit you're Mormon. Guess it's time to repent, right?

When Chik-Fil-A came to my town a couple of years ago, it had a ripple effect and most of the other local fast food places adopted the same uber-friendly, uber-helpful approach to customer service. This was particularly noticeable at McDonalds and Taco Bell where everything is now "their pleasure" (which is nice even thought frequently used in the wrong context) and all the women now call you honey or sweetie.

The noticeable exception is Wendy's which, in the 8 years I have lived here, has never had an employee who spoke to me at the window, looked me in the eye, thanked me, or did anything other than act like I had disturbed them at home.
