That is about another $2,000 out of my pocket. If I knew for a fact the poor were really helped by my getting hit for $2,000, I would be fine with that. The problem is there are people in this office who that kind of hit would hurt. Maybe I should get on medicare and start collecting on some of all that money I have and am throwing into the pot.

Let's say $60,000 is on the middle class. That $2,000 is increasing their tax rate 5.7%

I have to turn off the TV or radio when Obama is speaking. As far as his non political life, I like him and think he is a good person. As far as his policies go he either lives in lala land or a very skilled politician. That means he outright lies and exagerrates and the press applauds him for it.

You need to shop around for your drugs... It may be less money to take a little trip across the border to get your cortizone and work on your awesome tan at the same time.

For example, this guy save a buttload by buying drugs on-line from a CVS in India:

How I Got the $84,000 Hepatitis C Drug For $1500 by Buying It From India

How I got around one of the most obscene examples of Big Pharma overreach.

When I went in for my annual physical in 2011, I knew something was up when the physician's assistant who usually dealt with me deferred to the actual doctor. It was up to him to take on more serious issues, and as he soon explained, I had one. My blood work had come back showing I was infected with the hepatitis C virus. Hep C is a serious, life-threatening illness that attacks the liver and can result in fatty liver, cirrhotic liver and liver cancer. One out of five people carrying the hep C virus will die of liver disease within 20 years. And a lot of people have it—at least 3 million, and perhaps as many as 7 million, in the United States alone.

When I was diagnosed five years ago, there was no effective cure. The interferon-based treatments weren't successful half the time, and the side effects were so debilitating few patients could endure the months-long punishing protocol. But hope was on the horizon. Pharmaceutical companies were working frantically to create new hep C drugs that were more effective, with fewer nasty side effects. Gilead Science was first out the gate, bringing the new hep C drugs Harvoni and Sovaldi to market in 2014 and 2015, respectively. And they worked great: More than 90 percent of patients taking the new drugs saw the hep C virus wiped out in three months, and without the side effects that made interferon treatments so intolerable.

But there was one big problem: Gilead wants $1,000 a pill for the 12-week treatment, or $84,000 for Harvoni and only slightly less for Sovaldi. In the United States, there is nothing stopping pharmaceutical companies from charging whatever they think the market will bear. Martin Skreli, the infamous "Pharma Bro," may be the poster child for pharmaceutical price-gouging, but the executives at Gilead certainly deserve at least a (dis)honorable mention. Gilead has grown fat off of hep C drug profits, generating billions in sales each quarter and sitting on a $26 billion pile of cash at the end of last year, with hepatitis C sufferers, insurance companies and state Medicaid plains generating the wealth of Croesus for the company.

The only benefit of Obama care is the expansion of Medicaid.

Every other facet of it has been a disaster. The actual number of people that make enough money to pay the enlarging premiums who couldn't get insurance before are very few.

I think everyone at this point would be on board with just keeping the Medicaid expansion and scrapping everything else.

Meanwhile, I still somehow have my old policy in which I'm only paying around $250 a month. I got it about one month after Obama care passed so I'm not sure how it's been grandfathered in.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I know a guy who works with a number of Hispanics who has them smuggle in insulin from Mexico for his wife whenever they travel down there.

Another reason to not vote for Trump. He would stop our ability to smuggle in cheap drugs from Mexico. Now that I know I could possibly benefit from this illegal activity, I am switching my vote from Trump to Hillary.

It's weird that Trump supporters think that foreign drug dealers and criminals with intent to do harm to the U.S. will be foiled by a 50-foot wall along less than 20% of the continental U.S.'s perimeter. For the truly stupid criminal that can't think of a way around that, a longer ladder or deeper tunnel will be another viable option. Still, I can't think of anything better to do with the billions it will take to construct the wall, plus more jobs as we make America great again.

I will google it if you don't have a quick answer. Do you know if California's massive debt has been going down under Jerry Brown?

It has, and the state's credit rating has improved, but there's still a pile of unfunded liabilities and greater fiscal responsibility would be a nice thing.

That is good. I would hate to see us talking about bailing out states like California, Illinois and New Jersey like the talk about Puerto Rico.

Now, no offense to my good friends in California, but I would be really upset if California ever got bailed out by American taxpayers.

Hey, there are other options, my friend... The Libertarians don't want to build that f'n wall either!

From what I am reading the Libertarians don't want to do anything but sit on their fannies and smoke pot.

Sounds like the party Bernie should have been in.

No, the Libs believe in the free market and reaping what you sow... We also believe you have the right to sit on your fanny and smoke pot too. Bernie would have to check all his crazy socialist ideas at the door before coming into the Libertarian party but he can smoke all the pot he wants.

OK, my interest is up. Who do the Libs believe should pay for those who sit on their fannies and smoke pot. I know who the "Libs", now known as progressives, want to pay for those who choose to sit on their fannies and smoke pot. Then again, no one gets into war if everyone is sitting on their fannies and smoking pot.

Don't worry; we won't come to Utah, hat in hand. Over the past several decades, in measuring dollars paid by a state's citizens to the U.S. versus U.S. dollars going back to the state, Utah has been a bigger drain on the federal budget than fiscally irresponsible Californians have been. Interestingly, New Jersey and Illinois, the two other states you'd hate to assist, are among the least dependent on federal dollars and are ranked way below Utah when it comes to sucking at the federal teat. We won't ask you for our money back.

I may be off - but I think the Libertarians will let you sit on your fanny and smoke all the pot you want. But you'll also have to deal with the consequences of potentially not having an income or means to then pay for food, housing, etc. So unless you are independently wealthy, your choice to smoke pot may result in you also being homeless, hungry, and eventually without the money to get more pot.

                                But I could be wrong.
