Who is Christian Heinze? What is is history? Why would I care what he says?

Newt started the bull shit calling out everyone and anyone and has done it for years and years. Watching him get carpet bombed and now seeing him whining over and over again does my heart good.

I would tell Mr. Heinze that instead of damaging the GOP, putting Newt, Sara, Rush, et. al. back where they belong as part of the party and not "the party" is a very good thing.

      Could not agree more.
One of the grandest benefits of the enlightenment was the realization that our moral sense must be based on the welfare of living individuals, not on their immortal souls. Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.

Newt not participating would be a good thing. Where do I send my support for reporters moderating?

            Regarding Callista:

The former strategist had a different assessment. “She’s the single most self-centered person I’ve run into in politics—it’s all about her. They do these movies together, and she does a word count: she has to have the same number of words on camera as he does or they have to reshoot.” (A spokeswoman for Gingrich Productions denied this.)
            And

“The core problem was that he was not willing to do the things he’d have to do to run for President. And Callista did not want him to run for President. That’s why he had to buy her so much damn jewelry.”
How did I not know that Newt's first wife was one of his high school teachers and that Newt and the teacher were 19 and 26 respectively when they got married? Weird stuff. And Santorum's wife had a relationship with the 40-year her elder obstetrician who delivered her? Crazy.

The establishment that doesn't want Newt to change Washington is responsible.

Another thing you realize after reading that article -- I think most Americans would have no problem voting for somebody who had one or even two failed marriages.

But the way Newt carried on affairs is a different thing. And no wonder Mitt kills Newt among older people -- not sure many people in their 60s and older want a First Lady who was the "other woman" in a secret affair that went on for years and destroyed a marriage, nor would they have favorable feelings toward Newt for putting both of the women in that situation.

Yes, and as a result, I think, his gender gap is enormous, even among conservative Evangelical types.

This the extreme media moguls and the religious right are being treated like second class citizens by the Republican Party. I expect President Obama to about face on the Keystone Pipeline and give a likewise FU to the wacky greenies and then we can start solving some of our country's fiscal problems!

                        • Dont want to be cavalier about diagnosing manic depression, but doesn't Newt seem exactly that? Manic in some debates, and extremely depressed the last two debates in Florida.

No, Newt is just a sore loser. If he doesn't like the attacks, he shouldn't make any.

His mother was bipolar and he had a bad relationship with his step/adoptive father.

What you hear mentioned quite often is that Newt implodes and is undisciplined. And we've seen that frequently during the primaries.

But, yeah, he looked terrible in the debates last week.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
