It’s been a tight race. But it’s not a sprint… it’s a marathon. And like in any marathon – I’m picking the guy from Kenya.
"Be a philosopher. A man can compromise to gain a point. It has become apparent that a man can, within limits, follow his inclinations within the arms of the Church if he does so discreetly." - The Walking Drum
"And here’s what life comes down to—not how many years you live, but how many of those years are filled with bullshit that doesn’t amount to anything to satisfy the requirements of some dickhead you’ll never get the pleasure of punching in the face." – Adam Carolla
For those of you who have been closely following the race on Twitter, who are you most looking forward to unfollowing? Today I unfollowed everyone from Buzzfeed and Politico and it really felt nice. So glad to have that over with.
"I asked a Chicago broker whether he was optimistic or pessimistic about the stock market and he simply said 'Da Bears.'"
"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill
"I only know what I hear on the news." - Dear Leader

I still like McKay Coppins. Not sure about the others at Buzzfeed. Couldn't drop the Politico guys soon enough -- it not until I told Alex Burns that I thought his crew had damaged their brand by being so predictably left-leaning.

"God made the angels to show His splendour - as He made animals for innocence and plants for their simplicity. But men and women He made to serve Him wittily, in the tangle of their minds."

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Even when the political posts end, we will still have those annoying "Thankful November" posts.
My little sister is rad.
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock
I don't want the director of the CIA unable to cover up his own affair.

When someone tells you Washington needs to make a deal to avoid the Fiscal Cliff, remember the Fiscal Cliff was Washington's last deal.

Not a tweet - but it is political and might be outrageous...
The best theory that I've heard about Benghazi so far - the big story the Obama Administration is trying to cover up is that they were conducting interrogations at the Consular Annex - the kind that we officially now find abhorrent and no longer conduct - that had to be 'cleaned up' before we allowed anyone - our regular military, special forces, super-secret special forces, etc - anywhere near the Annex.
That would explain a lot, including why the Director of the CIA would be offering cover on the story.
I guess blackmail would explain the DCIA's behavior as well...
It would also explain the existence of a fairly large consular presence in a place where it makes no real sense to have one.
sounds like the storyline for Call of Duty: Black Ops III...
"Chicago now wants only "healthy" snacks in vending machines. Relax folks. In Chicago, "healthy" means any food with less than 2 pieces of bacon."

Not a tweet, but a FB meme. It's supposedly related to a Mother Jones article about Repubs drumming up too much hype over the attack in Libya, but I didn't see it right off hand and didn't look too much. I hadn't seen an attack on our consulate, killing Americans referred to as a "made-up scandal" until now.
